Colonial 1984 wrote:
Does anyone remember the murder that took place behind the Colonial on Lawrence st back in Feb of 1984?
Donald Beaudry was murdered at the Colonial then. He was walking through the bar when he bumped into a pool cue being held by the murderer. Donald said "Excuse me, sorry..." as any polite person would do. But the Killer didn't care for his apology. He stabbed Donald to death. Some two weeks later, the killer was fished out of the Merrimack river up by the Tyngsboro Bridge. With his shirt pulled up over his head. Donald left behing two very angry, vengeful brothers. Roland and Emiol. End of story.

What about that 1717 Middlesex St. murder/robbery Alladins?
The kids came in dressed in halloween costumes and tried to rob the store. The 19 year old brother working there went after them and he was shot and killed. They kids were caught and the place is now a Subway Sandwich shop.

Back in the 80's a man who was a peeping tom this the Highlands was charged with the murder of a college girl while she slept. He beat her with what they thought was his camera! Years later he was released I lived off that street and knew this man all my life! He Is Gulity as Hell !!! I think he was in his early 40's at the time and still lived with his MOMMY when they let this clown out he is still living with MOMMY
He was "Released" because a jury found him "Not Guilty" That is what we do with people found not guilty under our system of law.

There were also the teenagers who were drinking and smoking at the Morey school, some old lady used to give them a hard time so they piled leaves around her house and lit it on fire. She died. Probably happened in the late 80's early 90's
Think one of the Shattuck brothers was involved with that..

Thank you for posting this information. As a young relative who never knew him, I am interested in learning more and resolving this issue. Just curious-were you and your friends down at the factory very long after the incident?

In the mid 1950s, Lowell Police Officer George Pearsall was murdered one night, shot to death, inside the old American Hide & Leather factory on Perry St., hard by the Concord River. When he was found, his service revolver was missing. As the investigation progressed, Officer Pearsall's son, Jimmy, became a person of interest. Jimmy wasn't the most stable of youngsters, and the local papers had a field day comparing him to Jimmy Pearsal of the Boston Red Sox, and how both had strained relations with their fathers. The story went on forever. One night, The Sun reported, Jimmy drove his car to the cemetery where his dad was buried, and ran over the grave several times. Rumors were all over the City that Jimmy had slipped the missing revolver into his father's casket, which, of course, would mean that if Jimmy had the gun, he must have killed his dad. Officer Pearsall's body was exhumed and the casket searched, but no weapon was found.
The murder was never solved, that I know of, but the story had longevity. Years later, acting on a tip, I think, P.D. searched the Concord River and came up with a gun. If memory serves, the gun was so degraded that it was unable to be identified. My heart always went out to Mrs. Pearsall.
It was an interesting and wrenching story, and I always thought it would make a great made for T.V. movie.
As an aside, a bunch of us teenagers were cruising one night, and we saw a car's headlights turn down the driveway to the American Hide & Leather. We thought someone was "parking" down there and decided we would give them a scare. We whipped our car off Perry St. and toward the building. In our headlights we saw two black & whites and 4 Police Officers, and they drew down on us. After we got reamed, we all went home to our respective houses and changed our skivvies.
