There were 2 young boxers from Lowell that were brothers, the Ayalas. One of them was shot and killed in front of the old St . Joe's Hospital.

When I was a kid in the 60's I played with a boy about 5 yrs old, Kenny Mason, played with him everyday.
He was killed by some guy and they found him by the river bank.
I will never forget that, my mother never let me out of her sight after that.
I bought a True Crimes magazine a couple years ago off eBay that had the whole story.

When I was a kid a guy who lived across the street from us on Hunphrey St. named Rick Brown(I think) killed his wife by stabbing her multiple times when she tried to leave him. I always thought he was kinda weird even as a kid.
Right before I was about to graduate from GLRVTS in 1996 some punk named Juan got killed in the highlands over a drug beef. Got dragged by a car and when he broke loose was flung into a parked car. They dedicated that stupid Mariah Carey Boyz II Men song to him at the prom. I puked in my mouth.
What trade shop did you take at GLRVTS? Is it true they were cutting back on some of the trades? In the Sunday Sun in the schools section there is always good write ups about the Vocational schools in the area.

I believe it was 2002 on Lincoln Street, when the two brother got murdered in front of their house. I lived a couple of houses down from them...it was really intense.
Down the street from there I remembered there was an arm robbery and hostage on Chelmsford Street in Lowell, with cops and snipers everywhere...that was scary also...
The kid that was recently shot off Dutton street. was their Older brother.. he too died. Sad

O.K. PEOPLE TELL US WHAT, WERE, HOW, AND WHY. TO SOME OF THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN AROUNG LONGER THAN OTHERS, PLEASE GIVE US A CRIME HISTORY LESSON ABOUT THIS GREAT CITY WE LIVE IN. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING OUT.
In the mid 1950s, Lowell Police Officer George Pearsall was murdered one night, shot to death, inside the old American Hide & Leather factory on Perry St., hard by the Concord River. When he was found, his service revolver was missing. As the investigation progressed, Officer Pearsall's son, Jimmy, became a person of interest. Jimmy wasn't the most stable of youngsters, and the local papers had a field day comparing him to Jimmy Pearsal of the Boston Red Sox, and how both had strained relations with their fathers. The story went on forever. One night, The Sun reported, Jimmy drove his car to the cemetery where his dad was buried, and ran over the grave several times. Rumors were all over the City that Jimmy had slipped the missing revolver into his father's casket, which, of course, would mean that if Jimmy had the gun, he must have killed his dad. Officer Pearsall's body was exhumed and the casket searched, but no weapon was found.
The murder was never solved, that I know of, but the story had longevity. Years later, acting on a tip, I think, P.D. searched the Concord River and came up with a gun. If memory serves, the gun was so degraded that it was unable to be identified. My heart always went out to Mrs. Pearsall.
It was an interesting and wrenching story, and I always thought it would make a great made for T.V. movie.
As an aside, a bunch of us teenagers were cruising one night, and we saw a car's headlights turn down the driveway to the American Hide & Leather. We thought someone was "parking" down there and decided we would give them a scare. We whipped our car off Perry St. and toward the building. In our headlights we saw two black & whites and 4 Police Officers, and they drew down on us. After we got reamed, we all went home to our respective houses and changed our skivvies.

It didn't happen in Lowell, but Daniel LaPlante, who killed the Gustafson family in Townsend.
That was so sad. I do remember when the police were leaving the Court house on Gorham St. with LaPlante in the wagon, they had the sirens & lights going. Kind of a Fair-well Celebration, for LaPlante.

Back in the late 80's, I witnessed a man stabbed by some guy numerous times. Myself, my sister, and my Uncle were on our way to "Tom the Tailor" across from the Credit Union. He was infront of what used to be the RCA TV Repair Store.
It was horrible. A car pulled up, the man got out, stabbed the poor guy with a butter knife. It was the worst thing ever. They found the knife in the bushes right at the TV repair store.

George Edgerly. He killed his wife and decapitated her. Took off her head and hands, and I don't recall if they were ever found.
He worked at Al Luneau Chevrolet on Rogers St., towards the Tewksbury line. Teddy Kemos was a salesman and later became general manager, I believe.

Again here's the full story on this one. 2 Murders a rape and a national scandal involving General Mothers. Also F Lee Bailey and John Kerry play rolls in the story as well. It's actually quite interesting so I suggest reading it.

How about around 1980 tenement house fire on Decateur street in the Acre. I beleive 8 dead (5 children). Investigators discover the only exits (2 of them) were blocked by those large old fashion refrigerators. Turns out the fire was started by a drug addict/dealer who felt someone in the building ripped him off for about $20 in heroin. Lets hope he's burning in hell now.

Lets not forget the 2 brothers from Billerica killed behind the Courtyard hotel off the connector 4 years or so ago.

Clue see my info on the previous page. It was actually 8 people, 5 children (and 1 dog). I remember wathcing the fire and the body bags being removed. It couldn't have been 1983 though because I was in HS in 1983 but when that fire happened I was at St Joes Elementary and had to walk past the building everyday to/from school until they tore it down. So the latest it could have been would have been 1982. One of the local funeral homes paid for the funerals and the cemetary plots pro bono.
