Mr.Cassin loves money and would never give up that raise. Things are not changing they are getting worse just read this story. Mr. Tulley wasted no time appointing a subcommittee to find a replacement for Cassin. Come on he pick five people that would go his way. Why, because he has a vested interest in the next Supt.(with family members working in the building) and already has decided on Mary Jo Santoro. Seach committe, what a joke Lenzi wants a replacement by April. Why, simple how does a board do a complete seach for a Supt. in about two months. They can't and will pick the in-house person named Mary Jo Santoro. Why pick Mr.O'Hare to be the chair person? Why not he has the most family members working at the school and will also pick Mary Jo Santoro. Why not have the whole Greater Lowell School Committee do the "grunt Work" isn't that why we the people elected them? Having all members with their input working together on the Grunt Work" would only make sense wouldn't it? Not if they already have a person (Mary Jo Santoro) in mind. This has never been about the children but has been about keeping power at the top. Read the article careful and you will see there is a motive behind each statement. Again how does a board make a decision that will effect our children for the rest of their lifes in just over two months? Easy they already have a replacement and that is May Jo Santoro. The dog and pony show has begun.

I can not blame Mr. Cassin for taking the raise to boost his pension. After all how long will the money he got from CVS for his Bar last him what the heck it was only 1 million give or take a few thousand. So between that and any profits from said Bar and his current "modest" salary. One must admit he really needs a boost in his pension so he will not have to go on somesort of goverment funded aid program.

Someday we'll all realize that in end it's all about 'me'. Yes we're hired to do a job that we love, but we love money and we need money. I hope the next hire, the board will be more budget savy and think long term!

How can Mr. Cassin plan on taking sick days? Is he scheduling surgery? Does GLTHS have a sick day policy? Such as take 3 days and you must bring in a doctor's note?

Well Mr. Tulley, you sure did show your true colors last night. You have the opportunity to do the right thing and you blew it. You are next; we will find someone to replace you. I donít care now embedded your family is in your town. Mike Lenzi, I hope you enjoy that ethics investigation that you are involved in, you should have bailed last night. Mary Jo Santoro are you kidding! She already has caused the school to degrade because of her poor decisions and lack of knowledge of education law that continually is grieved by the union and the union wins every time. Itís a waste of taxpayerís money due to outrageous attorney fee at 200.00 dollars an hour.

Excellent question. I thought there were laws governing that sort of thing. As for Cassin - the word is definitly greedy and if the Voke hires Santoro or anyone else at that outrageous salary, then the town reps need to be voted out next election. Better yet everyone in each town needs to contact their reps and let them know what they think.
It's time for accountability out there.

Well this was my thought on what he would do all along. Take the increase in pay and retire with a bigger pension.
Lenzi, O'Hare and Tulley need to go.
And lets hope Olson, Morin and O'Neil step up to the plate and do the right thing. I think Bahou may light a fire under their a**es.

What is really sorry about this situation is: everyone was so enthusiastic when we had an instructor rise up in the ranks and become Supt; wow--we thought he would make sure students had the best of the best-equipment, software, classes--but no, he showed his true colors--took the $$$$, increased the size of the administation and directors--with outrageous salaries and non certified personnel--and the new Supt. will keep doing the same unless the School Committee is smart enough to realize that the best thing for the students, staff, is to GO OUT OF THE BUILDING for the new Supt.

What a wonderful example for Supt. Cash-Out to give to the faculty at the school." I have SICK TIME and I plan to use it before I retire." Just shows what kind of a phoney he really is. Good riddance to you and may we please have a LEGITIMATE Nationwide search for his replacement. Maybe SHREK is available from his swamp to this cesspool would be an easy transition.
