Dismissal of Lowell MV homicide case sought
The attorney for a Lowell man charged with driving drunk, hitting and killing off-duty Lowell Police Officer Patrick "P.J." Johnson two years ago will ask a judge Wednesday to dismiss the case against his client.

The off duty cop was blasting along at 75 mph or more; amd Chan was only doing 30 after most likely coming to a full stop before proceeding through the intersection. The off duty cop's blood alcohol level was apparently higher than Chan's; but of course Chan somehow get's charged with the whole mess. I say toss the charges against Chan into the nearest trashcan. If the drunken cop wasn't blasting down the street at 75 mph or more; none of this would have happened.
Needless to say, if the off duty cop had been pulled over by a fellow officer after being witnessed recklessly blasting down the street while slobering drunk, he would have gotten the usual free pass. Instead, his recklessnes lead to his demise....
