Massachusetts has about 5x the residents, too (6.6M vs.1.3M). The power of basic math...
But Mass has much MORE than 5x's the crime.
So guess what that means? Basic math is probably all you know.

Thats funny, because I never got insurance on my car as I drove it off the lot. stupid me, but no one has checked to the day, and I bought the car in march.

a friend of mine got nailed by an uninsured driver from NH some years back, totaled his car, basically the guy was a loser and lived in his moms basement and had nothing, my friend ended up eating the cost of the car as he had no recourse!

I don't think you can really distill it to a matter of New Hampshirites breaking the law because they have uninsured vehicles in Massachusetts. Insurance, in this case, applies to residents of Massachusetts with vehicles registered in the Commonwealth. Yes, people who do not have insurance are risky, but it would be ridiculous to apply lifestyle laws to people passing through a state. Should New Hampshirites also have health insurance if they're passing through on their way to Rhode Island?

I suppose Massachusetts drivers only have to have insurance because they're popularly recognized as the WORST drivers in the US. Moreover, all New Hampshire residents wish the drunken weekend bastards would stay out of our towns.

Yes! If they want to get treated in a MA hospital when they are in an accident.

All those who think that they do not need insurance, I hope someone uninsured hits a responsible loved one of yours that does have insurance.

It is like a drunk that drives and wrecks his vehicle into your mom's car, and you yourself is a drunk as well while drives. I hope this realy never happens. Insurance is a "necessary evil". Spend the extra few bucks for a insurance company that is reputable.

Wow! Now I realize why they're called Massholes. I moved up to NH from PA a couple years ago and I'll tell you right now you couldn't pay me to live in Taxachussettes. I'll take dealing with a handful of "white trash" over pretentious, terrible drivers in a state who's politicians are insanely corrupt, in a state who's roads(and other infrastructure) are incredibly derelict, and a state who's laws are so contrary to the Constitution of the United States that it borders on communistic. That said, sunshine, if you want "white trash" one only has to look in your back yard of Lawrence and Lowell.
I love this !!! Well said so true I live in mass but I agree with you and the last part was great; if tomorrow mass lifted obligations to carry insurance half if the people commenting would be just another NH hillbilly lol me included god people lighten up they are following the law why trash the drivers rebel against the law makers not the poor drivers ....

I wish the rest of the 48 states that it would be legal to drive with no insurance that way everybody will have more money saved up like the state of New Hampshire that doesnt require it.

Law states..as a resident of Mass. you are required to have insurance. Good thing. The only reason most NH residents get it for driving in NH are because of Massholes. If you don't like the laws of Mass. move to NH. Learn how to drive and get a job. In the meantime stay out of our tax free stores. If you don't like having to drive up here to take advantage of that or robbing them. The majority of our crimes are from Mass. residents. We can do the loopdeeloop all day on Mass vs. NH. Let's make one thing clear though... pray you have good insurance. Stats show most faults are from the Mass drivers. If we don't have insurance and your driving like a maniac as usual and cause an accident you'll be sued from someone without insurance. Think of the unlimited payoff. Back the fuck off, red means stop, yield means look first, read a manual.

You know why Massachusetts residents are required to have insurance? Because they're some of the worst drivers in the country. Im a nh resident. I've worked on construction projects throughout mass for nearly 10 years. During that time I've been in 3 accidents...2 drivers ran red lights and the third stopped at a stop sign but forgot to look and t-boned me.
The problem is there is a considerable amount of offensive drivers. The endless construction projects, poorly configured roadways, and commutes jammed with traffic...all combine to further fuel wrereckless driving.
Now i've easily cocked over 600,000 miles on my odometer. Aside from nh I've lived in Maine and Florida. By car I've traveled as far as california in the west, Canada in the north, maine to the east, and Texas in the south. Yet somehow massachusetts stands out as the only state where a trip in the car is a roll of the dice.
