OU student dies in fall from deck

An Ohio University student died early today after falling from his second-floor deck at his off-campus residence, Athens police said.

Know this. He was leading life and doing what he wanted !

Comfort is often found in knowing they were with friends and loved ones.

I sincerely hope you move through this swiftly.

Kids have their whole life ahead of them. None of us knows when our time is up or how it will come. Life is too short.

I didn't know him but when I read he died after just finishing sophomore classes, my heart felt sick and I wanted to let the family know the community does care.

The administration and student body are very aware that alcohol abuse is a problem on campus. However, this type of accident is not exclusive to OU.

He was an intelligent, motivated, well-liked young man. RIP Matt, I wish you didn't have to leave us so soon.
