I am so tired of hearing sob stories for an excuse for murder. I was also abused as a young child and young teenaged girl. I did not grow up and believe that I could do what ever I chose and then walk away because of my pass. She should recieve her sentence in full. Shaving her head and giving her hair to children...come on!!! Grow up and take responsibility. If you act like an animal then that is how you should be treated. Enough with the appeals and wasting hard earn tax dollars.

I remember when this happened but I don't remember details. Can anyone fill me in on them?

She looked really miserable, flirting with her girlfriend in court. Sick. She's having fun in prison. She's a vicious animal who can thrive in that sort of environment. She's not suffering.

how is death a punishment? I believe everyone has a right to make their wrong, right before leaving this earth.
God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son. We are thankful for that love and that love is what teaches us to do to one another. What she done was horrible and what was to her was horrible also.

This goes to show people that the law, lawyers, and judges does not care about the victims. As I heard someone say THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE LAW THAT PROTECTS THE GUILITY AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE INNOCENT. What I can understand is why it takes so long to carry out a death sentence if there is no douth the person is guitily.

What I meant to say was that I cannot understand why it takes so long.

My vote would be no! She is not remorseful. Didn't she kill Ms. Slemmer with a rock to the head?

I read each comment and agree with all of them. Our tax dollars could and should be spent in a positive way...not on keeping animals like this alive.

If she is truly sorry for what she did, then she should understand and accept the punishment given to her.

This is the problem with our system. It never ends. Like water eroding rock her staff of attorneys will erode the will of the court and people. Over time witnesses and people who care are not around and she will be released. The victim always seems to be forgotten.

an excerpt:

<snip>....Pike became
outraged and kneed her in the
face. She pulled out the meat
cleaver and sliced Miss
Slemmer's' stomach, then Shipp
jumped in and gashed her
across the chest.
The victim begged her to stop,
but her cries fell on deaf ears.
The box cutter came out, and the
three others tortured Miss
Slemmer for the next 30 to 40
minutes, stabbing and slashing
her hundreds of times.
Eventually, the three got bored
with cutting, so Pike and
Shipp held her down and carved
a pentagram, the mark of the
devil, in her chest with the meat
cleaver.
The victim was still alive.
At the end, Pike up a chunk of
asphalt and smashed the girls
head with it, again and again.
And finally, after an hour of
torture she was dead.
Pike reached down fished a
piece of her skull out of the
gaping open hole in her head
and put the blood-soaked
fragment in her jacket pocket.

Christa Pike had her day in court-she has received her sentence-now let that sentence be carried out. It was a very brutal murder. She has earned her sentence. To do anything except carry it out would be a travesty of justice to the victim and her family. According to the recent information, Christa Pike had a very tragic childhood. To me, her mother bears a tremendous responsibility in all of this. Where was she when she should have been setting a good example? Where was she when she should have been protecting her child? I am not without compassion for Christa Pike, but we cannot re-live our lives, and we must bear responsibility for the situations we create.

She shaves her hair so kids without hair can have some. Big deal. I pay taxes so that kids with deadbeat parents can have a little bit of food and shelter, while her fat ass (I mention that as she obviously doesn't have a problem with obtaining food, as many in America and the world do) can sit in prison, protected from the real world.

I agree with a couple of responses recognizing that it is the taxpayers who pay for boarding criminals. This girl was tried, convicted and sentenced nearly 10 years ago. How much of the taxpayers money have gone to housing her? I am pro-death penalty. I firmly believe that death fits this crime. Taxpayers have to stand up and say enough is enough. If we took half the money spent on facilitating criminals and directed it to education, then we may be able to prevent future instances of such criminal behavior. Of course there are going to be those that slip through the cracks but shouldn't we at least attempt to save those that want and deserve to be saved?

I agree with most of the posters. She is a murderer and is still living a life of sin. The court should not go back on her sentence and they should deny any and all future appeals and send her on the fast track to her sentence. If she is a Christian then she can call out to the God of second chances because He is the only one that should be allowed to grant it.

Does Colleen Slemmer get a second chance at life? Her life was taken away at the hands of Christa Pike, and very little remorse was expressed during her trial in 1996. I've read the book published on the bruital killing and no one should have to die like that. Thier are alot of woman who was raped or sexually molested as a child, and alot more who lived a loveless childhood, but that doesn't give them the right to take a life. Instead of taking someone's life, Christa could have chosen to change the life of another young girl who experiences were the same as hers and many other women in the United States. She doesn't deserve a second chance...

Cry me a river! I don't care what kind of horrible childhood she had. That's no EXCUSE for turning into a piece of $hit murderer! Execute this b***h and free up some jail space. We need her spot for that other b***h that had knowledge of/participated in the recent carjacking murders.

Ha Ha Ha. I KNEW you were going to say that!(couldnt have said it better myself!) You go!!!!

I don't see any difference between Christa & the thugs that hurt Channon & Chris. They wanted what they wanted & took it, during that process decided they could have some "fun" with the victims. I'm not gonna get on my soapbox about all that again, but I still feel an eye for an eye. NOTHING will change my mind.
