Does anyone feel the same way I do about the Sonic? The one on Kingston Pike has a drive through but sitting in line and a carhop comes to my car while in the line and brings my order to me. Ok I am in the drive through and why is there a carhop at my window. There are only 2 cars in front of me so what's the issue.

Go to Sonic and it's a hamburger only. You hand carhop a $5 bill and she stands there looking like you are supposed to give the remaining $2+ as a tip. Trust me Sonic, it's not worth a $5 bill for your burger and a carhop.

I do not mind tipping, but I seem to have a problem with Sonic. A drive through does not bother me and the carhop I have no clue why they feel the need to have them. It's like the people who hold those signs for businesses. I do not tip the chick at McDonalds or any other fast food so why the heck doesn't Sonic pay their people minimum wage.

Again I will say I am confused why a carhop showed up at my window when I was at the drive through. I chose not to tip, I did not tell them to send her to my car. In the meantime she stood there looking pissed.

They grab your food out from under a heat lamp and take it to you. The only difference from McDonalds is they chose to make the walk between the heat lamp and the customer a bit longer. It is literally the least amount of work they can possibly do.

If you feel obligated to tip the person at McDonalds, tip the person at Sonic. If they're making a special order, coming by to check if you need refills, grabbing your trash as you finish with it, etc, then by all means slip them a couple bucks.

Well if you are not going to tip inform your server of that so they take better care of tipping customers thus allowing you to get 2.15 an hour worth of service.I find its the Liberal Democrats and the Conservative Republicans along with The Tea Baggers that don't tip as well.

You'd better stop with the lies. You don't know me, nor will you ever. What are you talking about: No fan is not running for public office, so how could you possibly know what my opinion is, on the "working person"? And the sentence should read: It's not on her agenda", there I gave you a clue, a really huge clue.

I do not associate with bottom feeding liars and you are both. Keep on posting, almost got it, lmao!

The suggestion for tipping is 15% for good service. Anything above 15% is for excellent service and below 15% is for bad service. I have worked as a server before and if it was a law that servers make minimum wage then I would say tipping is optional. Unfortunately here in Tennessee, servers make well below minimum and rely on tips to survive financially. In Washington State, servers make at least minimum wage plus tips and as I have heard, serving jobs are coveted out there.

I tip according to service, even at Sonic. Yes, all they do is bring you a hamburger, but they are at least working, unlike many. I have, only once, given 1 penny as a tip, and that person gave the most horrible service I have ever been given, almost spilling coffee on my husbands hand, on purpose when she ran the mug over, among other things. It takes a lot for me to not tip well and she pushed me there. She also got reported to her manager. But most of the time I tip at least 20%, because I know how hard serving is, and I respect the person that has to do that to survive.

Now why would you bring No Fan's name into this unless you are obsessed with her?? There was no need for you to bring anyone's name into this. I haven't heard her talking about you in random posts. So why?? If her beef is with JJ, then let them talk it out or whatever. What you did is just attempting to inflame the situation. They are adults and can work it out themselves, or not. That is up to them. But to randomly bring her name into a thread is being a troll.

I agree it's ridiculous to tip someone who only brings me my things one time. I am a server myself, but I find it ridiculous that they get tips for just going out and bringing people the order and nothing else. I get drink, refills, entrees, etc. I'm constantly running back and forth between tables checking on them. I only get about $2 per table and they are getting probably about the same amount without as much work. I do tip them because I feel obligated and I know it sucks to only make $2.13. I don't blame them, I blame the company that they work for. They established the pay rate for their workers, not the workers.

I HAVE waited tables, thank you. That's why I tip as much as I do. I KNOW they depend on tips to survive. Did you not even read the post when I SAID that I had been there and done that myself?? Please try reading things before you post something so crazy.

Here you go...for you to read and understand in case you can't find it. It's just a few posts up there.:

<quoted text> 1 penny tip? I have had terrible service before but never would I leave a tip like that. That is heartless.
If they poured hot coffee or even almost did I'm sure you would not leave a tip. And if you did, that would be your own stupidity. They are tipped for giving good service. If they give that bad of service then they don't even deserve a penny. So, think what you want. I really don't care.

I know...and it's not worth replying to them. I have had many posts twisted around to the way they wanted it to sound. I truly don't care though. A sincere person will understand it the way I write it.

I do tip but I think with the money the resturants make they should pay the waiter at least min wage and then let them keep their tips. the way it is we pay in tips to bring the waiters wage up to min wage. if they make $2.15 an hour and get $5.10 in wages the resturants is not out anything.

Well, if the tips plus $2.10 does not add up to the current hourly minimum wage, the restaurant does have to make up the difference. But in todays economy, I don't know anyone that can survive on just minimum wage. Normally I tip at least 20%...Once, JUST ONCE, I tipped one penny, but as I said, she purposefully overran the coffee mug while my husbands hand was on it. Had he not removed his hand so quickly he would have been burned. Now, that was AFTER she stood for at least 5 minutes talking to another table 10 feet away from us, after we had been sat. Nothing even as simple as "I'll be with you in just a minute." Completely ignored us. Then, when my tea glass was completely empty and I had to ask for a refill (I've worked at Cracker Barrel as a server and glasses are not supposed to ever get close to empty) she filled it up. I took a couple sips out of it so it was then maybe about 1/2 inch from the rim. She walked by and filled it completely to the rim, being a smart a$$. Almost burning my husband was the last straw. Sorry, but she didn't even deserve 1 cent...I left that for the impact and then discussed it all with her manager.
