Clinton's mayor calls it the "biggest issue the city has ever faced". In about one month, voters will decide if the Clinton School District should dissolve, pushing most of the teachers, students, and three ...

I have lived in the clinton district for 3 years. I have six children at home with four of them in southclinton elementary. I went to knox county schools. I find the clinton district a more comfortable place for my children. I have 2 children that need isp for special education. clinton is such a small district they can give my family the attention it needs. As well as the other children. I am concerned that if there is a swith to Anderson county that my children will become lost in the shuffle.

I teach in the Clinton schools. I am a parent of students that attend Clinton schools. I am a citizen of Clinton. The issue here is that if we begin giving away pieces of our identity, who will we be? Our system scored 94% proficient and advanced in Math and 91% in Reading/Language Arts. I just wonder how a community that values the future could not be proud of that! Our goal has been to preserve a tradition of excellence that has been around for 113 years.
The money is available in the City budget. We just need to look at what is most important to us and prioritize our spending.
I personally believe that investing in children is one of the best investments we can make for our city, our state, and our country. I urge anyone reading this who can vote in Clinton, to just vote NO!

I received a flyer in the mail discussing the pro's of city schools but never said anything else about the matter.
What is the difference between a "city school" and a "county school" anyway? Shouldn't they all be the same? The main purpose of school is to teach children the 3 R's (reading, writing, and arithmetic) to prepare them for the working world once they graduate.
I hope this isn't someone's lame attempt to use politics and the media as a means to keep their job.

Sounds to me like you might want to figure out why you keep getting knocked up. I have no doubt you have 2 kids with "special" needs...not surprised it's not 5 or all 6. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the kids at all. Just the parent that can't seem to understand the meaning of birth control. One question, do you get any assistance for these 6 kids?
What u said is very rude. I have been a nurse for years and my husband died in 2010. Don't dare judge me unless u know me. I am a wonderful mother. I thank god I moved to a better place so I don't have to listen to people eho dont understand the meaning of family. And my kids are not special needs. They just need help with learning. Just so u know. Your comment came out like u are an ass.
