It never fails. Ignorance breeds prejudice! Quite obviously, those most ignorant (like yourself) are certainly are INCAPABLE of expanding their knowledge. Perhaps they should be "eliminated".

YES, before any more kids get mauled; all police dogs, too.

Pit bulls are not a threat! If mid treated or neglected they will fight to survive just as any animal will even chihuahuas. Pitbulls were bread not for fighting but for hunting big game, herding livestock, as a working dog and a family companion. Fighting dogs were mistreated so they will bite and fight anything around them. Some were used as bait dogs. They were starved beaten and thrown in with healthier dogs just to lose. It's not the animal it's the people that misuse their privilege as being dog owners.

If you have a pit bull, be warned, there is no insurance that will write your liability. Should your dog attack, maim of kill anyone or anything, you will be responsible and could lose everything you own or ever will own.

Some pits kill for the fun of it, and yes sometimes they do kill people. A girl from Knox County, couple years ago, had raised a female pit from a pup, out of the blue, the dog attacked her and tore off half her face. This is just one incident, that is close, there are thousands more. I do agree it has a lot to do with how the dogs are handled, but you CAN NOT predict what a pit will do, I have seen them in action, and it wasn't pretty!

The breed as a hole should be destroyed they were breed to fight and kill it is what they were made to do. If your are a felon it is a felony to own a vicious dog which this breed is considered that. That is far as the law goes I dont like them eaither and if I see one walking around with no owner or no lead it will be shot you can shoot anything if you fill it be a treat to you or your family and yes I consider that breed of dog being anywhere around my kids to be a treat that I will take care of.
Ur so stupid. Why do people think their just naturally all bad dogs. I have 3 and they are the biggest babies ever. They welcome anyone and everyone into our home. People like u need to be shot in ur foot or something for even saying something so dumb.

Pit bull owners generally seem to think they are super cool studs cause they have one, not all but most. I know one meat head who gives his steroids. I feel any breed has the potential to b dangerous without proper socialization. However, I do feel pits are more of a danger to other dogs than any other breed, even well socialized pits who live in loving families will violently attack other dogs. My neighbor has one its a sweetie to her kids, but it jumped a fence to attack my yorkie, thank goodness my husband was out w us, he had to beat the dog in the face to keep it from getting Lucy. The dog would not stop coming for her, my husband had to have stitches in his arm over the attack. It was traumatic for me & Lucy, he got the tip of her tail as I was scooping her up & nipped it off. She had to have stitches too & her little tail will never look normal, which I could careless about. The neighbors no longer let him out w out him on a leash supervised, but I'm always scared when I take her out knowing its there.

Also the pit next door that attacked my yorkie n husband always loved us & our son. We never let Lucy near him because I always had the fear of him hurting her. I think this day he thought he had his chance.

I don't want to see ANY animal hurt, not even the pit next door. I do think they are extremely dog aggressive & owners need to b held accountable & responsible for them. If you have a pit then u love it n take care of it, however don't expose the rest of us to it. Keep the dog on a leash under your direct supervision at all times, don't take it around other dogs or crowds. Not everyone is comfortable w ur choice of a pit bull. They do make loyal n loving pets just like every breed of dog, sadly the aggression towards other animals is part of them so you need to b responsible and make sure your pit NEVER hurts other animals or ppl.

I don't think they should because dogs are not born bad! The owners teach the poor dog to be aggressive! If people really want to get technical about humans kill more pits than the dogs kill humans!!!

Make it a crime to possess a large dog without insurance.Include registration and transfer of ownership.
I had a 4 pound dog,,she never mauled anyone.
Neither did my 14 pound dog.
You defenders of large dog breeds,,,post some insurance association data on breed, size, and damage.
I can kill someone with a weapon.A large dog,or a group of dogs, can kill with out human command.

I love animals, but I would never trust a pit, even if I raised it from a baby, completely isolated from any other animals. They can't be predicted and they will always go after cats and smaller dogs. Also, there is no insurance company that will write a homeowner that owns a pit, and a few other large breed dogs. Of course, the majority of people that own pits, do not nor will they ever own a home, or anything else. To generalized, maybe...true, none the less. The Chow is another breed that is unpredictable, and also a barrier to home owners ins. They are cat killers and even raised with the cats, will still slaughter, they can't be stopped. I have had dogs all my life and these two breeds are the only ones I have never been able to change that behavior. If you love your kids, you will not let them be with or around a pit. I don't have this worry, but I do know what I'm talking about, to the dismay of most, still the facts!

If someone brings one of those mean ass dogs to my part of town and it keeps getting loose,I'm gonna ease down the street and give it lead poisoning. One bite on a child's face and they're scarred forever. Some people own these animals as an extension of some badass image they try to perpetuate and it gets out of hand. Am I lying? Look at news reports about pit attacks and children missing ears and lips. I figure I'm doing the community a good service because " I told you SOS" always come to late.
