In my opinion, it's in your mama, but your wife and sister together run a close second!

Business professionals in Springfield is a joke, just look at the responses. Springfield is a dumpy ,ghetto town. Just drive up the road to Nashville for a good happy hour spot. Happy hour in Springfield is when a new batch of meth gets cooked!!

As really said buddy look at these comments and then make your own decision. Any one who goes by Jo Jo the Monkey Boy is a prime exaple of what you find out in this town at the hangouts. You have to go elsewhere.

Really's definition of Happy Hour in Springfield was really funny. Most comments are not worth reading, but I laughed at his definition.

I suggest the pit. They got a lot of professional drunks.

Depends on if you want a restaurant atmosphere or bar atmosphere. Applebee's is a great place if you want food and drinks. The Pit is a good clean place if you want an ice cold beer or cooler. Newell's Bar is a good one if you want mixed drinks. There are a couple other bars in town but I wouldn't recommend them at all. Hope this helps

Cheryl, Thanks for taking my question seriously and replying. I would have been disappointed going into the Pit if they only serve in bottles. I check out AppleBee's and talk about depressing.

I'll have to give Newell's a chance today after work.

Tony, your going to be quiet depressed buddy, 1st off The Pit sits over in the Hood so U probably want see to many professionals over that way, just dealers, bums, and druggies, Applebees? Professionals? lol yea right! So Tony I will let u attend these places and then form your own decision. Cheryl must work at one of these joints

So this leads to the next question: Is there demand for a more upscale/professional bar in Springfield?

TOTALLY, HOWEVER it would never stay that way. People have tried over the years but with all the rift raft that drifts in it always gets ruined. It is impossible in this town to keep a place upscale, it would be nice but it just cannot happen.

You know my husband and I were told all sorts of bad things about The Pit and didnt go there because of it. Well we recently were talked into going with some friends of ours and I was really surprised at how wrong all the rumors were. I meet some really nice people in there. Really nice clean place. So it just goes to show you that you shouldn't believe everything you hear. We will definitely be going back and taking friends with us.

U sound like the type to fit in. The topic was a place for PROFESSIONALS and if you are hanging at the Pit you are not a professional, your a local town person. May be clean but you know and I know its not a place if your looking for successful people. It may have a nice person or 2 but call it like it is, A beer joint in the hood.

Well some of the people we met were professional in my book. Two lawyers, several others that own respectable well known businesses in Springfield, and a well known musician who travels on the road with a country music singer....yea they sound pretty professional to me. You know you might want to stop in there sometime and see for yourself instead of just listening to rumors of the past. I dont know about the "hood" part but I do know it's been there for a long time.

If you are going to a place to have a drink after work and you either turn onto 16th Ave by the Royal Inn Motel or a second choice is by Mi Mexico grocery, you are going to the "HOOD". You will see several "professionals" working if you sit at the bar and look outside!!!!
