a coworker that uses drugs how to tell my manger

I work at a factory. And I know of a coworker that does drugs at work and sells drugs at work also, I dont know how to tell my employer.. I dont want him to know I told on him but his a big hazard to my job and to the company .. I thought about sending a anonymous email to the company but I dont know if it would work?? How should I go about this

Has anyone had this same problem or anyone been thru anything like this ? I hate to tell but his always not paying attention and his actually been close yo hurting people with equipment due to lack of alertness'

Tell Human Resources.... Talk to your supervisor and tell Him/Her that you need to either talk to the designated safety rep or HR.... Tell them that you feel your safety is being compromised when you have to work with folks that are under the influence of controlled substances and that by law you want your name to be kept confidential because you don't want retaliation.... Those are some options... If all fails call OSHA

Your company may also have an anonymous 1-800 tip line for things like this. Look in the break room or wherever all the federal wage info is posted. If not, just print a note out at home & sneak it to your supervisor.

Hell no. Go right up to the mgr or higher and tell them. A high Coworker is dangerous to you just as they are to them self. Would you like to die for their dope habit?

Earl your so stupid I mean if the guys doing things that may get someone around him hurt then you should go to him with another friend and tell him what he's doing and if that don't help then do what ever is needed to keep you and your co-workers safe man..
The work place should be drug free 100% especially Factory work..And for the love of God DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GUY THEY CALL EARL OR CLAWED NUT SACK they know nothing about everything.
They both have been beat down several times over the things they say to people on here,of course they won't tell it but I have already beat the both of them down already..EASY MONEY NOTHING TO BRAG ABOUT THEY BOTH CRIED LIKE LITTLE GIRLS.

I along with a few gave you good advice... Do your job and get the idiot off of the job before he gets you or some innocent employee hurt or even worse.... Killed... It's simple... Go to HR or the plant manager or the safety/quality rep.... Tell them.... Remember if you're seeing this and let's say some innocent person gets seriously hurt then OSHA will come to your plant... They could shut it down for days... Weeks!!! You won't be getting paid, so do it for you or because you care about your coworkers, but either way just do it!

Let's see. This pusher sells drugs to other people taking money away from the junkie's family. I'd say if you DON'T say something to stop it you are the really bad guy here.

Thank you!!! I will now pull my kids out of public schools... I was debating doing this but after reading your post and reading all the spelling errors, I've come to the conclusion that I don't want my kids working minimum wage jobs, because it's safe to make this assumption that you're not an engineer or skilled professional... Thank you and yes you can learn to spell. Trust me. It's probably for your own good, that way you will be able to get a job and get off of welfare, just imagine! You could actually have a new car, a new home and you'll be able to say that you did it all on your own. Pride... Sometimes it's good to have some!!!

You're not the bad guy... Some idiot who uses on the job is a huge safety risk to not only you but others and usually a employee who uses on the job is 6 times more likely to be the cause of an event that harms others.... Plus who ever is using on the job knows better and deserves to have their ass run off

I see that these people are telling you all of this advice! Guess What !! ITS THE WRONG ADVICE!

If you tell your employer that this man is doing drugs, and the company sends this man to get a drug test and the man fails the drug test ,....... THE MAN CAN SUE THE WHOLE FACTORY!!!!!!

It is ILLEGAL TO DRUG TEST A EMPLOYEE DUE TO HEARSAY!!! That's right! While it is very difficult to prove hearsay , this topix post is enough for him to use as evidence that his drug test was hearsay!

AT ANY JOB , ANYWHERE, NO MATTER WHAT .... UNLESS IT AFFECTS THE IMMEDIATE SAFETY OF OTHERS ... IT IS ILLEGAL TO DRUG TEST A WORKER BECAUSE SOMEONE SAID HE WAS ON DRUGS!!!!!!

So ... Lets say that this guy is working and his job really does not affect the safety of anyone in the plant, then it would be illegal to drug test him. So if he is working on a machine that NO ONE ELSE IS AROUND... Or if he is doing something BY HIMSELF... They can't drug test him!

NOW THEY PROBABLY WILL DRUG TEST HIM, but im saying that IT IS ILLEGAL!

If I was the man and I got drug tested at the factory .... and if I knew that this was on Topix , I would file a lawsuit against the company!

All he has to do is ask " Why Are You Drug Testing Me "
If the company says that he was randomly selected , then I would ask for the print out of the selection! If they refused to give it to me .... I would document that or get them to sign something saying that they can not give him a print out! Also , before I even had the conversation with them ... I would tape record the conversation!

So if they could not give me a print out of the random selection , they could also say that they suspected you! You can drug test for reasonable suspicion. And They may use this as their excuse!

Although it is very difficult to prove that they drug tested you on hearsay , if they can not provide any evidence of the reason they drug tested you ... you have a legit chance of getting them!

But yeah , If you tell the employer you are going to be labeled a snitch in the whole plant and also .... THEY CAN NOT DRUG TEST SOMEONE BECAUSE OF HEARSAY!
