I'm glad to know that Butter Bean is on the road to recovery. I don't have any experience with potbellied pigs, but I know how much we love our canine family members. Four years ago, one of our pups had back surgery and had a long road to recovery that included learning how to walk all over again. I would do anything for that little guy. Pets fill our homes and our hearts with love.

Momma, About 6 years and $10,000+ later... I've managed to save one of my poodles with a similar malady ...Like Buttter Bean, he was sick from the time we brought him home, and it took 2 years to finally figure out what was wrong with him. Thank God for the Care Credit card! lol I expect with a back surgery on your pup, you understand that sort of financial pain too. lol I can't imagine my life without having some hounds with me and you really can't put a price on love can you? I'm glad your little one is doing okay. I don't know anything much about pot bellied pigs, but I'm thinking of trading in these counter-surfing hounds for a shorter animal! lol Maybe a nice pot bellied pig.....

Interpid, try a dachshund. They're too short to get up on the counter and make wonderful lap rats when you want to relax, stretch out and take a nap. Just be sure to have a small blanket on your lap - they love to crawl down under and cover up!

I had to link to this story, because Butter Bean is the perfect name for a pot-bellied pig! Poor thing...

Momma, my mother had a dachshund...they seem like a one-person breed. Would you agree?

I hope I can be PC when I share this, but I think Dachshunds might be the only breed of dogs that are gay. My female dachshund preferred me, and my daughters, but my male dachshund prefers my husband. I don't know if I answered your question or not(?).
