That is an easy comment to make when the four lane highway won't go through your backyard.

I personally think it is a good idea. All along these people have known that this could happen. My goodness the project started way back with Lamar Alexander so it is no surprise that it is coming. The reason he wanted it in was to help Knox and ANderson County have easier access to the Smoky Mountains.

I wouldn't want a interstate running through my living room either, but this has been on the drawing board for 20 years.

The people who are opposed to the project might as well stay home rather than waste their time at these public meetings. The meetings are scheduled well after extensive, costly, and time-consuming planning work has been done on the project. TDOT isn't going to waste that time and money to abandon the project unless there are highly unusual circumstances. It rarely happens.

Knox and Anderson County don’t need easier access to the Smoky Mountains. It was a bad Idea 20 years ago just as it is now. If we keep taking up all the land there won’t be any reason for a drive to the mountains. This is a good example of developers controlling politicians. Sad, because we all lose more of the beauty of East Tennessee.

I know what it is like to be uprooted from your home and have to relocate. I lived on Papermill rd, which at that time was the truck route out of and into KNOXVILLE. If,we had the same feeling back then as what i am hearing about Pellisippi Parkway. What would west Knoxville be like now? We need to grow and set up the interstructure that this county needs now.I promise it will get worse before it gets better.

The GOV will do whatever they want to do whether we like it or not.
I personally do not want it just because they are taking away so many memories, farm land and peoples businesses.
I don't understand why we must have the same route leading to the same place. Yes, it maybe shorter but it's only shorter if you are planning on going shopping. It isn't any closer to the hospitals.
Most peoples mind sets is like a microwave, we want it now and not have to wait. I mean people think fast food is too slow anymore.

Getting a few outsider to move up on Nebo Mountain might not be a bad thing. Think about it.

Leave it to TDOT to waste more money. Those idiots ruin more of Tennessee's communities and cities than all the green house gas and trash ever could. TODT - The Destruction Of Tennessee.

And this happens when the children sell off the land of their fathers to developers. Our kids have left the nest and Blount county will no longer be a rural county and cant be. The farm life doesnt support it because fewer and fewer of the new generation want that lifestyle.

In order to keep growing properly and be steady, these expansions have to take place. But I am with many of ou and say the city council needs to catch up and make the roads be able to take the traffic. I remember when it took 15 minutes to get from Eagleton to Bungalow. Now it takes over 30 because of the traffic. And forget the southside of the county where it has been over developed and is still being developed.

i live right beside the current end of the highway in Jackson hills. My house is actually on Old Knoxville Highway or as they siad, "state road 33." I really do not want this highway trampling through my backyard, literally. It's enough that they want to put a development park there too. I know the family that owns the land for the project and believe me they want the money...

The one guy saiud he didnt want Blount county to be a bedroom community to Knox and Anderson. WHat does he think it has been ever since we fell behind in growth and the majority of the people went to these counties for work? Duh! I have lived here all my life as well and when I cam back from the military it surprised me and saddened me to see the county changed so much. But we have to embrace this and make it work for us or it will ruin us.

One view is Knox and Anderson doesnt need access to the smokies like that. What about the peole that live out ther ehaving access to knoxville.

Property value will go up when there is better access to the working centers of the area. Without Alcoa being the force it used to be, we are a bedroom community and there is nothing wrong with that.

Why don't you go up on Nebo and tell them that face to face! They might find what is left of your sorry ass in a few years.

Have you people never traveled outside of Tennessee? Do you realize how bad the sprawl is getting here, in one of the most naturally beautiful areas in the eastern US? I welcome growth...responsible growth. This will just lead to more strip malls and treeless subdivisions. No thanks.
