my family is likely relocating to brentwood. We should be arriving in early November. Does anyone know of any good preschools and mothers day out programs for my 3 year old and 19 month old? I know many may be full but wanted to find one where we could possibly be accepted. Thanks!

Yes Brentwood is a great area, mostly old money, but they are having serious problems with the rezoning in the Williamson County School District specifically Ravenwood High School. Check out the scoop on the Williamson County School Rezoning happening in Cool Springs at http://www.coolsprings.com/

Another part of Brentwood is in the Cool Springs area. Cool Springs is the retail center of Williamson County and home to 200 restaurants and the CoolSprings Galleria.

Hi Felicia, I just sold a house to a family from Naples this past Dec.(they'll be moving out for good at the end of the school year). I sent my son to the Children's Center in the Grassland area. While it's not officially Christian, they have a very christian based program. No waiting list (due to the economy), you can go 1/2 days or full days, every day or just a couple times a week. I highly recommend them. If you want more info on the pre-school, or need help on your home search, feel free to contact me at [email protected]

Brentwood sucks. Tacky 7,000 throw-away houses that people then furnish with gaudy rooms-to-go suites of furniture, over-crowded schools that everyone says are so great but they're really not. Since everyone's a transplant, it has no local flavor. A soulless place that will suck your soul out if you move here. Like I said, it sucks.

I am also considering moving to the Franlkin/Brentwood area. I am not concerned about publics school, because my child is about to be graduating and is intersted in College in Nashville. Are there any areas that aren't full of Elitism and full of materialistic ppl with racial diversity around the area? I am also interested in the night life in the area... I refuse to live in a boring yuppie society,( as I do now) any info would be great.

You can get a lot of bang for your buck in the Thompson's Station/Spring Hill area. It is GROWING tremendously. Just make sure you stay on the Williamson county side of Spring Hill as the city falls into 2 counties. The Williamson county side has better schools.

We also moved here from San Diego- 3yrs ago. We love TN all of it. We live in Thompsons Station/Spring Hill. A great place.

Hi Stephanie, Brentwood is exceptionally trendy and a great investment, having fabulous shopping at the Cool Springs Galleria and with Williamson County having a highly rated public school system.(part of Brentwood is in Davidson County) As a Real Estate Broker in Brentwood, many of my buyer-clients are requesting that area; as you move south the properties are less expensive but Spring Hill is showing huge value increases within the past couple of years. Good luck and if you need more information please contact me. Alyse Sands, RE/MAX Elite
You are INCORRECT! NONE...I repeat NONE of the city of Brentwood is in Davidson County. It might be a Brentwood zip code...but it is NOT in the city limits of Brentwood and eligible for services such as water, fire, and police provided by the city of Brentwood. Also the property value isn't the same. There are a lot of areas around the bonified city of Brentwood that try to "ride the coat tails" of the actual city of Brentwood's prestige...but they are NOT Brentwood. Those areas include anything on the north side of Old Hickory Blvd...anything in the Nipper's Corner area...and anything in the Lennox Village areas located in Davidson county.
The bonified city of Brentwood is entirely within Williamson County Tennessee, and even some of the area that calls itself Brentwood in Williamson County is NOT actually in Brentwood. I suggest you pay close attention to this when looking at real estate and a new home for your family...it's like daylight and dark.

Maybe you should consider North Nashville...maybe the Bordeaux area. I think you'd fit in fine there.

As you can see from 99% of the postings, the Williamson County/Brentwood area is appreciated especially by people who have moved here from other places.
Williamson County schools are above average. All communities offer something a little different...Brentwood typically has a larger lot size with the houses (which also tend to be larger) but has no appreciable shopping except for Cool Springs on the southern extreme. Some will tell you that those in Brentwood are snobs and interested only in status, but I would not agree. I live in Franklin and would opine that there is more diversity and energy there.
All Williamson County schools are above average. However, Franklin HS has an accredited international baccalaurate program available to qualified students.
I would stay close to Franklin/Brentwood just for convenience if your budget affords it. There's nothing like a 10 minute commute!
I guess that the statement that there is more "energy" in Franklin is true if you consider Franklin's higher property and personal crime rate, the MS 13 and Crips gang affiliations in the Franklin public schools, and the horrific traffic congestion in Franklin.

We don't have those issues in Brentwood, so if that's being in a town with "energy" as you call it...I'll stick with Brentwood!

I don't know much about Brentwood. Brentwood tends to be all about Brentwood- which is great. Here's what I know first hand.

I would look carefully at the IB program at Franklin High. I own a small retail business, I employee about 20 and my main source for part time staff is junior and senior students from the Franklin HS IB program. They are great employees. They have alot of respect for each other and for my business. They all get into their college of choice. I have never heard about any of them getting into trouble. Some are returning from college and working in the community and are extremely competitive in the job market.

I have lived in the county my entire life of 51 years. I ahve never been a crime victim, never had a break-in, a robbery or been threatened in any way. That's why I choose to stay here. I don't know about gangs in county schools. I personally have never seen any evidence of gangs. Doesn't mean they don't exist, just means that I walk around Franklin and drive around the county all day and gangs are not an issue.

I am sure that Brentwood is lovely. It's been a very succesfull town from the beginning. But's in my opinion it's just another option with it's pro's and con's in a great county.

Real estate agents on this thread ...
Thank you for the information about brentwood. My husband and I are desiring to relocate to the Nashville area. We have family in the east and would like to be within driving distance from them. We are in Arizona with no ties and a lease that is up, so we are just waiting for job offers! We are both in healthcare, I am in clinical informatics and he is in project management . I would like to start networking with some folks to assist with this transition, as I know recruiters are fearful of out of state applicants.
I know we will need some assistance with housing , do you already work with some health care recruiters that we can connect with. My email is [email protected] . I am looking forward to connecting with a real estate agent who works with health care recruiters. Thank you !!
