Anyone remember the Village Barn nightclub in Knoxville? Lots of good times. Con Hunley got his start there.
I am trying to remember the owners name. I think he was a Roberts.
I am telling my age here, but that was a really great place!

You're not the only one telling their age. Used to have a lot of fun there. I remember going when Marlboro sponsored a "battle of the bands" contest.

I remember the the Village Barn very well. I have some great memories with a couple of (THEN) hot women on the dance floor. That was back in about 1977-78. Their was a female lead singer then, after Con was singing for awhile. I grew up in K-town, but I have been out in the western part of this Country for many years now...It is nice to have a few good momories...

Sam Roberts was the owner. I know because he was my uncle and he and my father had many business deals together. It was a great nightclub and had many stars singing. I remember when Ray Charles played there. What a night to remember!

Just ran accross this post looking for something else. Sam Roberts was the owner and Con Hunley got his start at the Corner Lounge on Central St. Knoxville.

Bill Lee from Moristown was one of the owners in the 70's. My father (Gerald) managed it for Bill and I have several great pictures from the club. Max Greene and JP Miller also helped run the club.
My father left and opened up his own club up the road called The Corral. He did well until it caught fire. He then went to West Knoxville and open The Coral West with Guy Jenkins.

I remember the Village Barn there was about 8 of us in the group. Clifford Russell was playing up there at that time.Met a lot of very nice people, enjoyed the music, we always sat near the ladies restroom. No place like that to party anymore.

I use to go there a lot with Dwight Whaley,(a Knoxville Police officer)on Saturday nights. Leon Russell played there a lot and Con Hunley played at the Corner Lounge a lot. The good ole days.

You are right! The facts are that Con is a member of the Kitts family. They all sing very well. Con got the Village Barn gig with a band call The Rhythm Masters with Jimmy Ross and Marvin Russell from Maryville.

I am trying to get some information about the private card game area at The Coral West. My father was "Small" Paul Blazer and he worked there. I saw Ike & Tina Turner perform there in the 70s. And have many memories of the place.
