No show Jones would have done everyone a favor if he had not shown up for his Knoxville concert Saturday night. He was physically unable to perform. We had two row eight seats and all we got to see was a bunch of idiots standing in the aisle. Who wants to give forty dollars for a concert ticket and only get to see the fat rear ends of a bunch of hair-brained idiots. I wish I had taken a good pellet pistol with me.I believe one lead pellet stuck an inch deep in one of those idiots rear ends would have cleared the aisle and let other paying patrons see George Jones try to perform. After about 15 minutes ,I got up and left the audience area. I went up to a lobby with chairs and tables and waited a few minutes for my companion to leave also. I will not be back to that arena. If they offer me a free ticket to see a grasshopper eat a three hundred pound bale of hay in 5 minutes, I will say no thanks.

Seriously though, the Possum??
If you give forty dollars to see and hear a performer, you shouldn't have to take on a continuous mob of people blocking any view of the performer. If I wanted to see forty fat rear ends, I would go down an aisle at Wal-Mart.One individual did get out of his seat and told them to quit blocking our view of the stage. George Jones has been one of country music's best. He was unable to stand up because of back surgery. He did his best to perform with intense pain. Two sons of the Statler's did a great job. They are talented and should become very successful.

We were there at the concert, my wife and I and I have to say that George Jones did an excellent job performing and I respect him for the efforts that he put in. It was our first time seeing him and I have no regrets at all. Only a FAKE fan would walk out after 15 minutes of the show. I could understand someone doing so, IF he had been sloppy drunk and falling all over the place. He is 81 years old and recently had back surgery. He made the tickets affordable for his fans and even took the time to autograph pictures for every fan who bought a t-shirt. I paid just as much money as the people who were on the front row and we were on the floor, just a little farther back. Our seats was not great because we had to look over peoples heads, so just right before the last song "He Stopped Loving Her Today", we went up toward the front through one of the isle's. I feel like we were just as entitled to seeing George up close and personal as the next person was. Ultimately it is up to the artist and the security and not the fans as to who gets to do what, so as far as the first persons comment is concerned, all I got to say is cry me a river!!! Also, you had better be careful when talking about shooting any type of gun at anyone, because with all the talk about gun control, you could get yourself in a world of trouble. The last thing I am going so is that George Jones did an excellent job and as a true fan, I would definitely go back and see him again. Well worth the money spent, NO REGRETS HERE!!!!!!!!!!

If you were not satisfied with his performance, then WHY are you bitching about people being in the way???@Mad, if You left 15 minutes after the show, then people wanting to get closer to the living legend shouldn't even be a concern to you!

Did he sing "I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair?" Because if he did, that would have been ironic.

My concern is not being able to see George Jones doing his concert. I have been to George Jones concerts when I could see and hear the Great George Jones. This is the first one I have been to when I could only see a bunch of fat assed idiots blocking visibility to the stage. My right to see George Jones exceeds their right to keep the aisle blocked and preventing me from seeing the performer. One fan cleared them out by himself one time. Security should have cleared them from blocking the stage. People much farther back could both see and hear his performance. When I spend my money to see and hear George Jones, I don't want to see three hundred fat rear ends keeping me from seeing the stage. No one else in that arena would have been happy. Everyone around me was mad and many people got up and left as we left.

You have no regrets because you could at least see and hear George Jones. People in my section didn't get to see or hear a concert. We got to see a bunch of rude jackasses preventing us from seeing the performer. I am not alone in being unhappy. Everyone in my section believed they had a right to see and hear George Jones.I have been to other George Jones concerts without having to have the stage visibility blocked.George Jones truly one of the greatest country performers of all time. I should have stayed home and seen and heard him on youtube.

I agree with the first poster. George wasn't physically able to perform. We learned from the security police in the parking lot that he was on oxygen back stage. They asked us if he was still on stage, as we were leaving early, and they seemed surprised. We felt sad because of his condition, but I don't think he did his fans any service by trying to perform when he really wasn't up to it. I blame his management agency more than I blame him. There is an old saying in the entertainment business that certainly is befitting here: "Get off stage while they're still clapping." God bless you, George. Know when to say when.

Re: Mad - If you had second row seats, the ONLY people that should have been blocking your view were the heads in the first row. Were the people who were standing in the middle aisle also standing in FRONT of the people on the first row? If not, then you should have had a clear view! During the last song, I went right up BESIDE the people on the first row. I did NOT go in front of anyone who was seated. I paid my $40 to get in, so I thought I deserved a chance to be close to him...at least for a couple of minutes. I thought George Jones did a GREAT job, considering his age and his health. It was SO rude and disrespectful to walk out during his concert! I enjoyed every minute of him performing. I had 14th row seats, next to the wall. WE could barely see over big heads (who wore hats) and drunks walking in and out! But I was excited just to be there and see a LIVING LEGEND live in concert! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

You had a right to sit in the seat you purchased. You had NO right to waddle your polyester down front and stand in front of people who had better seats than you. Why'd they have better seats? They paid more and bought their seats earlier. I don't know where you got your education but I believe you missed the part about consideration and manners. It's not too late. Just keep your lard & cottage cheese casserole ass SITTING in YOUR seat and you'll be on your way to becoming human.

Who says we stood "in front of people???" I know I stood up front (in the aisle BEHIND the front row) and I blocked nobody's view that were in their seats! I only went up there for like three minutes right before the end of the concert. If people were standing in front of the ones on the first row seats, that would be different!

You got room to talk about manners. Calling people names and labeling people as fat whom you have never met and have no clue in the world about. "JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED." You are not the one who makes the rules, the artist and the staff that runs the place are, so you can kiss my ass! I will do whatever I want to do and as long as security lets me, I would do it again. Besides all that, what are you going to do, jump through this computer screen and whoop me or bust a CAPS LOCK on me! LOL! Go get a life and stay your fake fan ass at home!!!

Ole Possum has caused a major ruckus - lol!! I've been to quite a few shows and most of the time, the staff will not allow a bunch of peolpe to stand in the aisle blocking others' views. It is also a fire hazard. I usually get close ot the stage tickets and while I do not mind if someone is coming up to take a quick pic or listen, it is aggravating for the ones who try to crash after I have paid good money for my seat. Usually more than $40 but it depends on who the performer is.
I have never seen George but would like too - I know he is older and may not be able to perform like he did (when he showed up) but he is a country legend. His Nashville show in Nov tickets are over $1000 for 3rd row through ticket brokers -there is a slew of performers like Garth Brooks who are performing so that is why the cost has went up.

Kinda sad that in his failing health, he is still performing. After lal the years of not showing up due to addiction problems, he is still at it but foe many performers, the stage is their life and that maybe keeping him going.

Forgot to ask - where was the show at? One time at TN theater, had front row pit seats for Pat Benatar and could not hear any of her vocals. Secnod time, had 1st row in the Orchestra and the sound was great. Other shows at TN theatre, have had no problems when up close so it may have been the sound set-up that may have affected the orginal poster's sections sound.

I have no clue at all what you are talking about. If you are talking about going to watch wrestling, I don't go to stuff like that. We were only up there for maybe 5 minutes, if that, so I don't see where we did anything wrong. I wish I had known those of you who walked out, I would have gladly took your seats.

I say you inconsiderate but-holes ruined the George Jones concert for me. After about 15 to 20 minutes of sitting in my forty one dollar seat, I got up and left. After I had looked at 300 asses blocking my view of George Jones on stage, I got up and left the arena. If you want to take pictures, buy you a good camera that will let you keep your fat ass from blocking other fans view of the concert. Arena employees asked me if I would have a seat in the rear where I could see. By that time, I was so mad I wouldn't have went back in if they had paid me. In the future, the civic coliseum can sell their tickets to fools willing to look at 300 asses instead of the performers.

I ruined NOTHING for you! You weren't even there during the last song when I walked up there. How could anyone in the aisle block your view unless they were standing in FRONT of your seat? People standing BESIDE your seat aren't going to block your view. If the Knoxville Civic Coliseum employees/management really thought that views were getting blocked, don't you think they would have gotten security to make everyone leave???
