Another article showing Aikens talking trash, and Don White too chicken to talk at all.
Reporter Hugh Willett, there is no mention of defendant Dale Hurst in this article. If you could not find him at city hall, try looking outside on the back side of the building. That's the side facing Bon Street. That's where he goes outside to smoke. He doesn't want the public on Broadway Street to see him out there because then they will know how much of his day is spent out there.

. What I find interesting is that the three people being sued drive their city/ county issued vehicles ANYWHERE they want to... This is common knowledge. Yet, they are going to try to defend their decision to fire her by saying she violated the vehicle policy. Where's the chain of discipline? If she had been doing these things, why wouldn't you bring her in and correct her behavior so it doesn't continue? This was nothing but a witch hunt to get her gone and I hope she cleans their plow! But I'm sure she'll settle for an undisclosed amount that us taxpayers will be happy to pay for....great leadership shown here by LC...(sarcasm intended)

What's even better is when you had your supervisor's permission to do it, then they fire you over it because they made White the "Public Safety Director" and she then had a new supervisor.
Prior to that - and it says this in her lawsuit - the supervisor was Hurst who had no problem with using that city vehicle to pick up a child at the daycare on the way home.

she is pretty smart. I'm guessing she has quite a bit of documentation on her side and I'm sure they never told her she couldn't do things in her city vehicle when everyone else is doing. They'll settle for lots of $$$

What is the difference in her doing that and Fire Chief Martin or officer Fine (to name a few) using city vehicles to drop off and pick up their kids at school. They are seen doing this every school morning. Do they have a separate set of rules? If so please explain.

I wasn't aware that Jack Fine had children that needed dropping off or picking up. Are you sure of this? and Mr Martin dropping off his kids? Waiting to hear back.

So you watch them?

I don't watch then (as in follow them), but I have seen them do so when I am dropping my children off at school. Mr Fine has 4 children. He does not do it as often as Mr. Martin who does it every morning. He is hard to miss considering his vehicle is labled with the fire department logo.

If you are given a "company" vehicle and can't stop on your way home for groceries or to pick up children then I suggest you get pay in lieu of that. You are putting people in ridiculous situations.
My husband has a "company car". He drives 35,000 work miles per year. We can use it for personal use. We are also charged income tax income for that personal use as directed by the IRS.

If you time it just right you can see the fire chief run the stop sign every day at the corner of Harrison and Norwood. I've seen him at least 10-15 times and he has yet came to a complete stop.

The KNS article clearly mentions Dale Hurst as one of the defendants. Goose is an expert about articles he doesn't even read. The entire lawsuit is on Shaver's web site. Did Goose read the suit?

Yes, Goose read the suit, and this article, and the News-Herald article.

Since you're a little slow, I'll explain it. The articles say:
"Aikens days.......". blah, blah, blah.
"Don White says ...I can't say blah".
But there is never any mention of Hurst saying anything. So it seems the reporters have some trouble finding him for comment. I'm trying to help them.
And now I'm helping you. If you still don't understand let me know. I'm always here to help.

Maybe the sentence: "others named in the suit could not be reached " is a clue as to why they were not mentioned in the story???

I agree. If they couldn't find Hurst, they probably didn't know where the outside lounge is where he spends much of his day. Hopefully they've read, and they'll know where to look next time.
I hope you get to feeling better. You seem kind of grumpy.

I find this very interesting, having children at Eaton it's nothing to see the officers who direct traffic in the mornings to pull in front of Eatons in their police car or truck and take their child out of the backseat and walk them into school. Are you saying this is not an o.k thing to do? I just always assumed it was allowed, I know our county employee's would not break the rules or would they?
