Louisville mother, Julia Ricketts, and her husband, lawyer Jonathan Ricketts, are again attempting to derail truth and justice. The Ricketts are requesting the KY Supreme Court ignore Julia Ricketts’ sworn deposition and 2 court ordered DNA tests. All which prove Jon Ricketts is not the father of Julia’s third son. A fact Julia admits in her deposition. However, Julia will stop at nothing to keep her son and his real father apart, for she hopes the Court will declare a father is not a parent by ignoring the truth.

As a disclaimer, I realize engaging in a 1 ½ year extramarital affair with Julia Ricketts was wrong, yet no one can convince me our son doesn’t deserve to have me participate in his life.

If you know Julia or Jon Ricketts ask them what gives Julia the right to keep my son and I apart? And please tell Julia it’s important our son knows both his father and mother.

Thank you in advance.

Jon Ricketts is a hothead! In Fall 2005 he threw a fit at our church because his oldest son, was not old enough to enter a kindergarten Sunday School. He "hunted" the teacher down and gave her "what for". Talk about LOW CLASS. He pointed his finger in her face and threatened her. Now he has the odasity to sit in the front of church and pretend to be such a great person. An act. Do you know their church? The oldest goes to school there too now.
Recently we had pictures taken for our church directory. On the sign up sheet, next to the name Ricketts, someone that "knows" wrote in red pen next to it -Rhoades.

Anyone who is interested, on Wednesday September 12th at 9am the Kentucky Supreme Court will be hearing oral arguments in Lexington, KY at the University of Kentucky's College of Law Courtroom to decide whether or not I will be able to participate in my son's life. The hearing is open to the public and is an opportunity to see how your Supreme Court functions. More importantly, it will demonstrate how your Supreme Court Justices feel about biological fathers. Let's just hope and pray they don't ignore the truth and deny an innocent child the right to know and love his father!

You'll notice my case is J.N.R.(aka Julia Nuss Ricketts) V. Judge Joseph O'Reilly (2007-SC-175-MR)

Hope to see you there!

Despite being judicially declared the biological father of my son (after 7 months, dozens and dozens of motions, mounds of evidence, and 3 DNA tests), on May 3, 2007 the Kentucky Supreme Court put a stay on my custody and visitation case, which was being heard in the Jefferson County Family Court.

NINE long months later, while still being denied access, visitation, and information regarding my 19 month old son by his mother, I await a decision from Kentucky's highest court declaring whether I'll be allowed to see my son before he turns 18.

Unfortunately, I must wait another month, which will make it 10 months, since the Court only releases decisions once a month. And there is no guarantee they'll even render the decision on February 21st. In the meantime, I continue to miss precious moments that I'll never be able to recover.

What makes it all so especially sad is that I've never done anything wrong. I've never harmed my son. I've never harmed my son's mother. And I've never lied to my son. All I've ever done is try to re-establish the relationship my son's mother cut off when he was 3 months old.

And if I am guilty of anything, it is having a lengthy affair with my son's mother, a woman who happens to work in U.S. District Court Western District of Kentucky, who is married to a Louisville attorney, and whose father-in-law is also a Louisville attorney. People in very powerful positions trying to use their influence to deny a child's relationship with his father.

I do not believe Julia is a bad person, however,(I think) she has not given the long term effects on her children enough thought. I believe she should be honest with them and let Anthony see his father. She needs to take responsibility instead of placing all blame on Anthony's father.

And the people at Holy Spirit don't approve of the Ricketts actions rather we hope they begin thinking of their children. Many people here believe Mr. Rhoades should be able to see his son and are praying for him and the Ricketts.

After 5 months of deliberation, still no decision from the Kentucky Supreme Court regarding my custody/visitation case. Here's a timeline:

-5 months since Kentucky Supreme Court (9/12/07) oral argument
-5 months still no Kentucky Supreme Court decision
-10 months imposed alienation by Kentucky Supreme Court stay
-17 months since petitioning custody/visitation at Family Court
-17 months since Julie N Ricketts told her husband Jon Ricketts about 1.5 year affair
-18.5 months since 1st DNA test of 3 DNA tests
-20 months since my son was born

Of course, now add one month to the above figures.

I'm sure Julia Ricketts is sitting at her Federal Court job laughing right now, for she tricked her husband about our affair, she tried to trick so many (family, friends, Judges) about our son, and now she's trying to trick the KY Supreme Court. She does all this without even realizing the person she's hurting the most with her trickery is our precious little son.

There is nothing more disgusting than a mother lying to her very own son. I can only imagine the lies she will tell our son if she's successful in tricking the Kentucky Supreme Court. And no one should endorse mothers lying about the identity of their fathers! When will people realize that children need both their mothers and fathers in their lives?

Despite the advice of her marriage counselor, parents should never devise lies to tell children! Telling people to devise stories is just bad and stupid advice!

As a loving father, why am I being treated like a second class citizen for wanting to participate in my son's life? Why is my son's mother being allowed to deny our son the opportunity to know his real daddy? Why does Julia think she has superior rights concerning our son? Doesn't truth and justice matter anymore?

Julia keep sitting back laughing but be assured to know I'll never stop fighting to participate in our son's life. And be guaranteed that he will find out I'm his real father and he will find out what you and your accomplices have done to keep him and I apart. Your actions are truly disappointing, but I'm sure that doesn't bother you when you look at our son and call your husband his father. Won't you ever value the truth?

When will this nightmare end?

concerned...we all should start helping the dad, for it seems like he's getting screwed. Why the hell is the courts keeping him from his child? As a father who is the primary care giver of my children, fathers should have the same rights as mothers. And in this case, if anything, the mother should lose her custody and visitation! People like her really piss me off!

Please help my son and I and help us put out the word about Kentucky House Bill 685? Please call the Kentucky Legislative support line?

For the Kentucky House just passed a bill that would allow me to successfully re-petition for custody and visitation with my son. And WIN! But I need your help.

If the Kentucky Senate does not push House Bill 685, which they received on March 26th, thru before April 1st it will be dead.
Please call and ask your friends to call 1-800-372-7181 in support of HB 685?

Please ask the message to be given to the Kentucky Senate, Senate Committee on Committess, and Senate Judiciary Committee to push and pass HOUSE BILL 685 before the end of this session. Tell the operator you are in support of HB 685 and you support equal parental rights.

They will ask your name and address, and it does not matter that you don't live in Kentucky. Please, please, please help me, for I love my son and want to see him. They take calls until 11pm eastern.

Gratefully,
James

These people need to work this out sooner than later to spare the child and siblings extra pain as they grow older. Its a huge mistake trying to put it off till later. They need to take care of it while the kids are kids and not adolescents, for they're all gonna find out. Small children can adapt whereas teenagers will be devastated.

For all of you following my case, today the Kentucky Supreme Court ruled 4 to 3 that TRUTH does not matter. They have trampled upon the Constitutional rights of both me and my son. The 4 judges said that the Jefferson County Family Court did not have jurisdiction over my petition for custody and visitation. It's the most absurd ruling I've ever read, and since being involved in this for the past 19 months I've read numerous Kentucky Appellate opinions.

Regardless, the fight is not over for I will be appealing the case to the U.S. Supreme Court. Hopefully that Court won't be so friendly to the father-in-law Charlie Ricketts as was Chief Justice Lambert.

Read the absurd 47 page opinion and see updates at http://www.letmeseemyson.blogspot.com

>Hooray for family values.

I assume that's sarcasm. ;-) Otherwise ... yeah that's funny. I've seen a few others speaking like that.(Only a SCANT few though, I emphasize.) You wouldn't go by the name W, now would you? lol

Don't worry Jon, Anthony will find you, his daddy, by the time he turns 18. There's no way this will be kept as anyone's secret anymore, and THAT is the true key in the end. I suspect a lot of people will personally escort your son to your door the day that birthday rolls around. And with the world knowing how badly you wanted your son, it *won't* be you with the explaining to do.

Those who claim otherwise (often because they themselves have been betrayed, not that they'd admit it in their public statements though), need to take a good look at places like adoptese and bastardnation. Gain some genuine knowledge on topics like adoption, adoptees, bio-parents, adoptive-parents, etc, which is what such a scenario would actually mimic).
