You shouldn't have to be notified that you are abusing your pets, you should already be caring for them properly to begin with.

She was/is obviously unable to accept the fact that she can NOT care for the animals they way they should be cared for. One person would find it impossible to do so. IF she is an animal lover she would not have been selfish, would have reached out for help and accepted her limitations.
Nope, she would rather have the animals suffer than place them where they would have been safe and well cared for, just so she could have them in her life.
That is not love, that is obsession.
