Teachers should strike because of all the high stakes testing that has to occur and all the paperwork that is taking away from teaching my child. Strike on March 30.

Teachers are not allowed to strike by law. Don't try it or you'll feel the wrath of Big Mike. Paybacks are hell.

Teachers have the right in KY to strike. However it should be noted that both teachers unions (KEA & KAPE) strongly recommend against it. I don't believe the teachers will strike because 98% of the teachers care for and are about the kids. In the last 3 teachers many teachers voted against Armstrong and JR as the HS has had a turnover exceeding 90 personnel in the last 2 1/2 years and this with a staff of 46. Other school "under crisses" in the state does have half as much turn over.
Last year the english state scores improved a lot. So how did the school board and JR reward them? Only one still remains from last year. All of them left.

You are lying. Or just misinformed. English staff has 3 of the 6 still there, thus a 50% rate. Plus there is no way a 90% turnover rate has happened since JR or Armstrong have taken over. Trust me. That is an exaggeration.

Osburn, Dillow, and Harris. Pretty easy to know, but you would have to actually find this out on your own and not take the word of someone else who is not informed. Nice try though.

Actually both of you "Parents & Former Teacher" are correct, you just are talking about two different school years. The SY 10-11 the english department made good improvements in state testing, and only one teacher returned - OZ. SY 11-12 didn't do as well and three of them returned - OZ, Dillow & Harris. Thus that tells you it was a former teacher that left after 2011.

If you read Former Teacher they never stated 90 % turnover rate, but they claim that there has been over 90 personnel changes since JR took over, which seems high, unless they are including SY 11-12 and SY 12-13. Considering that one Bio class has been through 8 to 10 teachers counting temperary subsitutes, that is possible.

So teachers are not allowed to get on their cell phones during lunch but students can all day long? LoL Is this you administrators? You people are such hypocrites. If memory serves me correctly I believe the taxpayers are paying for Armstrong and his clans cell phone bills. What a a waste.

Oh, how I wish they would strike! I would help support it all the way. Too many teachers have been treated horribly and they do have every right to take a stand for themselves and their students. Strike! I am, however, wondering how you plan to do it on a Saturday (March 30).
