as far as prices goes they all appear to be close to the same with smaller differences here and there on key things like bread, milk, eggs and pop but apart from those which can be higher or lower at any given store I think that if you pay attention to prices walmart is much higher than foodcity, and save a lot much cheaper than both

walmart has lately raised all prices on just about everything else!!!

plus you'll get something that costs $2.50 and get to the register and it is actually $4, that happens to me all the time

I like Food City the best of all. I don't trust Wal-Marts meat at all.

I just don't like Wal-Mart at all.

Well as a person who works hard for their money, I shop at all three. I dont have the luxury of swiping a foodstamp card at the checkout. Where I can save a few dollars at on a certain item is where I go.

coupons, coupons, coupons

I would love to see a grocery store stand up and give discount for CASH buying like the places do for buying gasoline. I never shop on the first of the month, because if you look at the prices they go up so they can make a little extra money off the foodstampers. Most of them do not even look at prices, it just seems they try to fill the buggy as full as they can with junk food as fast as they can.

I don't have a food city, but comparing between Save a Lot and Walmart, I do NOT recommend WalMart for many reasons.
Walmart treats there employees poorly.
Walmart bullies the vendors.
Walmart will only carry items they get a great price on, so they can mark it up. Then when the vendor must raise the price, then Walmart does not sell it, because it cuts into there profit. So if you like something, and even if it sells well they may not carry it.
Have you ever noticed the set up of the store? It's odd, not like other grocery stores. Plus they space it out differently so you don't notice they have less selection on FRESH fruit and veggies.
On the other hand, Save a lot is a bare bones, good store.

walmart has better food and more to pick from than sav a lot,Food city food is higher to me than what walmart is....like the cake mix and things.Sav-a-lot is prob cheaper than the 2 but dont have too much of the brand names and food to pick from.I think the food is higher at food city and the workers act snobby and stupid.I stood at service desk one time like 15 mins or so and the workers seen me standing there and i just walked off.Only thing i like about Food city is the Video Movie department to rent movies!

Wal-Mart's grocery selection is much higher in cost than FoodCity. Also if you want to talk about rude and hateful cashiers, you'll find those at Wal-Mart as well. Most of the cashiers do not have a personality at FoodCity but they are a little friendlier than the one's at Wal-Mart. The cashier's at Wal-Mart will be checking you out and having a conversation with another cashier that is a mile away from them, and they always drop my things and just laugh about it. I think they need some to hire new cashier's there and get rid of the big mouth annoying one's. And as far as Save-A-Lot goes, I honestly don't think they are much if any cheaper than FoodCity. And I do not trust Save-A-Lot's meat what so ever,it looks grey and nasty ugh.

If you're looking to save the most money, you really have to hit all 3, and get the sale items at each. Every store has bad employees, but Wal-mart's seem to be in a relative good mood, even if they are talking to others. Food City's cashiers seem constantly pissed off. Wal-mart is higher on some things, Food City is higher on others.

I work at sav a lot and i think that to get the best deals shop at all three places for the deals. Sav a lot does have a lot of good deals but most of our brands are off brands, but some taste just as good as the good brands but some not so much

FC is my main go-to store. Save-a-Lot is good for some of their special sales. Walmart, for me, is only for the items I can't find anywhere else (rice milk for example).

I shop mostly at Walmart, sometimes at Food City and never at sav-a-lot. I have a baby so going to Walmart is the best option for me so I can get everything I need at once. Food City does has the best meats, produce, and deli, but I think Walmart is alot cheaper than Food City. I do pay attention to price and Walmart is always lower for the things I buy. And I really like the walmart brands they are just as good of quality as name brands and are only a few pennies more then sav-a-lot. I just dont have the time to run around to all three.

just because someone has food stamps does NOT mean they do not work hard for there money,I am a single mom of 2 & I also am a store manager at a subway,I receieve food stamps so we can actually eat, so no not everyone on food stamps are lazy drug addicted ppl livin off the system,it is the people who are the lazy drug addict who doesnt work that make the people like me who truly need their food stamps to feed there family look bad,so before you stereo type people with food stamps think of the fact that not everyone lives off the system sorry but it really irritates me to see ppl judging someone who recieves assistance & uses it the proper way bc were not all trash....

how you a manager and still need to get food stamps? My husband is only one working and we have 2 kids and he dont make but $9 hour and we dont even get enough FS to help our family,i dont know how half these people out there are getting FS and have good jobs and both working and make money and still get alot food stamps when others dont even get enough to do a month! I really think since price food went up,so should the they giving more fs to people,we ALWAYS run out maybe 2 trips sometimes 1 trip to store and its gone.
