Van Lear Man In Jail On Theft Charges
Johnson County deputies served an arrest warrant to 38-year-old Robert Dean Delong and charged him with felony theft. According to the warrant, on December 13th, Delong entered the residence of the victim and allegedly stole her camcorder valued at more than $500 and then traded the camcorder for drugs with another party. Delong admitted to the deputies he took the camcorder and where they could retrieve it. In another case another warrant was served on Delong for allegedly entering the house of Donnie Witten in Van Lear and taking $50.00 in change belonging to Witten. Delong was arraigned on the charges in court Thursday. He has a preliminary hearing on both theft cases January 19th. Delong also has a probation violation hearing the same day.
Man Caught on Video Stealing from Hardeeís Safe
An East Point man has been charged with felony theft after being arrested on a traffic stop. According to the arrest warrant, on February 14th, 2010, Charles A Collier, 32, East Point, an employee of Hardeeís at the time, was seen on the security video taking $1755.52 from the store safe. Two days later the manís wife brought part of the money back. Collier was arraigned on the felony theft charge Thursday and has a preliminary hearing January 19th. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 19th. Collier pled guilty to the traffic offense and was assessed fines of $125.00 plus court costs.
Ashland Man Accused of Felony Theft
Charles Perkins, 36, KY-5, Ashland was arraigned on the Lawrence County Docket Wednesday on charges of theft by unlawful taking, possession of burglary tools, and criminal mischief 1st-degree. No court records were available for what Perkins was accused of taking. Perkins has a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 19th. His bond was set at $5000 cash.
Paintsville Man Charged with Theft of Identity
According to the arrest warrant, Howard Lemaster of Paintsville on December 10th allegedly committed the offense as he gave the victimís name and other identifying information to employees of the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center to avoid detection of his real identity when he was arrested for a criminal offense. Lemaster has a preliminary hearing January 19th. His bond was set at $5000 cash.
Monday Jail Arraignments from the 24th Judicial District
Scott Marcum, arraigned on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Marcum has a preliminary hearing Jan 11th. Bond was set at $5000 cash.
Brett Preece, arraigned on charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and receiving stolen property. Preece was also charged and arraigned for being a fugitive from another state. Preece has a preliminary hearing on the charges Tuesday in Martin District Court. Bonds were set at $5000 for first case and $50,000 cash for fugitive charge.
James Stepp, arraigned on charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument-1st-degree and theft by deception included cold checks. Stepp has a preliminary hearing Tuesday. His bond was set at $5000 cash.
James Jude, arraigned on charges which include possession of a controlled substance 3rd-degree, controlled substance not in original container, driving under the influence of alc/drugs, failure to produce insurance card, expired registration plates and driving on a suspended or revoked license. In a second case, James Jude was arraigned on charges of 2nd-degree possession of a controlled substance and expired registration receipt. Jude has a preliminary hearing Jan 12th. His bond was set at $5000 cash. Jude has a probation hearing scheduled for February.
