Disgusted by Armstrong's comments as to why students are going out of county.

I do not appreciate Mr. Armstrong saying that the reason students are leaving LCHS is because the high school is too rigorous and the students can't handle it. Who does he think he is Barrack Obama? Not every student is meant to go to college, but to say that is why they are leaving. What a joke. Yes I live in Lawrence County but my child is going to school in Ashland. Why? Because the Armstrongs, JR, Cassandra, and Luann are in charge.

I saw what he said in the Lazer. It made me want to gag. No wonder people are sending their kids to other counties. I have never seen anything like it. Half the central office staff comes in when they take a notion to. Don't they think people know what's going on? Everyone knows why that Hall man got the DPP job. It is so they can put the Cook man up there in Hall's former job when the dismal scores come back from Frankfort. And what about the Shannon lady they got rid of so that the Burns man who just happens to be Jim See's nephew could take her place. Everyone knows they had to hire the Muncy man to do the job because Burns can't handle it. Talk is they are going to hire the former finance officer from the Martin County School system to do her job. What will happen next? Stay tuned.

Why do you care if your kids go to Ashland?

Oh my child would be going to LCHS if it were not for the Armstrongs, JR, Cassandra, and Luann. Oh and my child got a 29 on the ACT. Rigor is not the issue. |

The issue is favoritism, nepotism, and assholeism. I know it's sad.

I have to give credit to Sue Michael for bringing up the issue. I think she has waited a little too late. The Michael family will always be linked with the Armstrongs and that is unfortunate. At one time Eddie Michael was a gifted and likable politician.

It seems to me it is almost like Armstrong is bragging about losing students to other counties. Could it be he only wants the brightest and best at LCHS? If that is the case then how in the hell did JR Cook become the man in charge?

Mr. Armstrong does not have anything against the poor unfortunate Special Ed. students in this county. If he did he would not have put JR in charge. Now lay off the poor man's bones. |

Why did you have to go and insult the special education students in this county? What did they they ever do to you that you would compare them with him? |

Please tell me if my memory serves me correctly but a few years ago didn't the ENTIRE Lawrence County school system get threatened to be taken over by the STATE because of poor test scores? If that is the case I'm sure students would be transferring because of that and NOT because of the "rigorus" expectations of the school. What a joke. I'm a graduate from LCHS and I can personally say that the education I received SUCKED. My Freshman year of college I realized how sucky it was when my college professors expected me to do one of many research papers and I had no clue how to do them.:(

Perhaps it is because you didn't pay enough attention when you were at LCHS? My daughter is doing a research paper as we speak for her social studies class. Her friends either already did one or are also currently working on one. They received instruction on how to cite sources and all that. She came home and told me. Is she lying? |

You need to enroll your children into a new school if it is too hard for them.

I agree. And he is trying to get rid of the special Ed students too. All the Armstrongs have ever cared about is money and power. I think the students are probably the last thing on their minds. |

Do not misunderstand. I am simply telling of my experience. I graduated from LCHS 20 years ago. At that time doing research papers were not required. It's good to know that your daughter is getting a better education than I received because college can be tough especially when you are expected to automatically know how to do certain assignments such as research papers. |
