If he doesn't want cats on his property there are other ways to achieve that without doing something like this. Since he admitted to doing it I would have animal cruelty charges filed. If that was my cat he shot it would be a very bad time for him, that worthless piece of garbage would get a boot up his ***!!

Although I wouldn't have shot the cats, it is up to you, the pet owner, to make sure that they are not in a position to be shot.

Did he break into her house and shoot them? No. They were on his property. Cats don't understand property lines, but humans do, it is up to them to keep the cats in their own yard, preferably their home.

I agree. My two cats are strictly indoors. Between cars, other animals, fleas, ticks, and other things that are harmful to cats, I keep mine indoors 24/7 where they are safe and comfortable.

A 22 is more effective. Cats should not run lose and should have to have a license like any dog. They mess up landscape, tear screens, walk on cars, kill birds so if a cat is running lose you have to expect at somepoint somebody is going to get fed up with it.

This makes me so angry. I hope they find the people responsible and shoot an arrow in their neck. Idiots.

If you're going to complain about shooting a trespassing cat, would you also complain about shooting a trespassing possum? Raccoon? Bear?

Like I said, there are other ways to keep cats off your property without killing someone's pet. From your post it sounds to me like you are saying it is ok to shoot cats because they annoy you, does that mean you give someone permission to shoot you if you annoy them?

@ bullseye: Do they call you bullseye because you walk around with one on your back, with all the smack you talk? You don't think that these creatures have feelings and emotions like we do. They aren't numb to pain, that's proven. What you say and do comes back to you.

Why is it ok for a person to "own" a cat and let it run around free outside but yet there are laws that require a dog owner to have their pet on a leash at all times? If your cat is wandering around outside that cat is not a "pet". Why are cat owners not responsible for their animals? If you are not going to take care of your cat then don't own one!

That is so cruel this is why my cat stays inside. Last year while taking my little girl to school a cat came up to us and it was obvious someone just cut it's tail off my little girl cried and couldn't understand why someone could do such a thing. People that can be so mean to defensless animals deserve to go to prison.

Mike, since you have said this twice, can you please enlighten us? I live next door to two families that have a total of 10 cats....yes, 10 F****G cats! And all of them have decided that my yard is the place to take a crap and they destroyed my flower and veggie gardens. The owners of these feline foes could care less. I have spoken to them many times to please keep their cats in their own yard or in their house, but say that they can't control them! WHATEVER! I don't want to hurt them, and haven't hurt them, but running out of options and PATIENCE!

10 cats is way too many for any one person, that is ridiculous. Here is a good link that offers alot of information

http://landscaping.about.com/od/pestcontrol/a...

There are repellents you can spray, certain plants you can have around the yard that cats do not like, you can spray them with water when you catch them in your yard or use sprinklers, they hate mothballs (put in a container with holes punched in the top)

There are motion sensing devices that will emit a sound wave humans can't hear but will scare cats off
