Don Smith was never offered the position of Girl's Basketball coach at El Dorado. They would not find a position for him so he moved on. El Dorado lost a good coach and wonderful science teacher (his wife) to other school districts. Corey Smith did nothing wrong and this is a rumor started by someone that cost him his job. If he had been involved in something like this the authorities would have to be notified. Typical Bob Watson and El Do school district BS.

You really should have your facts straight before you start commenting because it makes you look very ignorant. Police were notified!

I KNOW for a fact the police have talked to the parents of those taped and they are pushing for them to press charges. C.S. said he put it in there to try and catch someone stealing. As a teacher, he should know that you cannot legally tape students for any reason without parent permission and NEVER in a dressing room or bathroom. But everyone that I have talked to, including the police, do not believe the story he is telling.

This would not be the first time this occurred and nothing was in the paper or police files. Several years ago, the same thing occurred with the band director and he also resigned. Last year a coach was caught with a substitute in a classroom and he also resigned. Did you read that in the paper. Doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Like I said, a rumor (lie)started by someone and Coach Smith pays the price. Every student's parent signs a waiver at the beginning of the year about the video cameras.

What about Corey Johnson? It was all in the paper, but there was proof. The band director, no proof, just hearsay, not in the paper. The coach caught with the sub, nothing illegal about that. Why should it be in the paper?

The waivers are so the practices and games can be taped. Again, it is against the law to put cameras in dressing rooms and bathrooms. If he didn't do anything wrong, then why quit? CTA and AEA(teachers' unions) would have paid for his defense. Let's just say if he did use it to catch a theif, a grown man should know that he would also be taping girls on his team changing clothes in a dressing room! That is just common sense. This also happened several years ago at the complex when the bathrooms were being vandelized. He lost his job as well.

C.J was caught having a relationship with a student. Her parents filed charges. As for as the one with the sub, it is an ethics violation and grounds to lose your license when it occurs on school grounds during the day when students are present. How can you honestly believe there is nothing wrong with that? Whatever the reason the camera was placed in that dressing room, there is no defense.

There is a difference between illegal and ethics. You choose to come up with your own definitions for words. Follow the storyline and quit making things up to suit your wants and desires. Just because you make a statement does not make it illegal or true.

Just because it isn't in the paper doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Just like the teacher at Retta Brown a couple of years ago, it was the local police that nofity the School district of the problems with Russell, he is long gone from El Dorado.

wow, im speachless i had smith as a teacher and he was so down to earth. i do know he let us break many of minor rules alone the lines of eating in class talking and having CAMRAS in class. he would tell us storys and some the girls would even record him. this is very shocking news.

Is 'shocked' an example of El Dorado High School Students? Is this writing sample what we are to expect from students? Is this breaking of rules what we are to expect? At this rate the Promise money should never run out. They will not last one semester in college.
