I was at that facility from march 2009 until released in july 2010. The allegations are categorically true. Keep in mind that this is a level 2 faciliy so most people there are non-violent drug offenders. Victims of the War on Drugs. Should a guy convicted of growing and selling marijauna be sent to prison and abused and humiliated? Is this correction? That man will not come out rehabilitated. He will come back into society and on to your streets full of rage.

Absolute power corrupts absoultely!
The test of a society's civility is how it treats its prisoners.
We were sent to prison as punishment not for punishment.

New Mexico prisons are still in the dark ages. Its time for prison reform.

The real criminals are the banking executives, Enron types, pharmaceutical companies and the like. But I guess ignorance is bliss.

We all know everyone in jail is guilty.
We all know there has never been a case where they convicted the innocent.
Fact is that most people in jail are in there for victimless crimes.
Most victimless crimes contstitute a longer sentence than murder, rape, fraud and other crimes that constitute a victim.
The system is set up to let the real criminals out early to house these types of moral offenders.
Now I know there will be posts saying this is BS, and I know there are some real bad people in jail but the fact still remains that the jails are full of people that are only a victim of themselves.
Are you serious? Actually there are hundreds of cases that have been proven false. DNA evidence has already cleared many innocent people who were sent to prison.
But I agree with you that real criminals like murderers and sex offenders are let off with lighter sentences than drug offenders. Banking executives are not brought to justice for their crimes. Golden parachutes. Banking executives are rewarded with millions of dollars in bonuses for their crimes against humanity. Justice is illusive in our society.

Who the HELL do these guards think they are? Guards are only doing it for there own pleasure they must have not yet come out of the closet. Guards you treat inmates wit abuse n torture are mean evil vindictive people. They must have been abused by there parents better yet cone from broken homes. These inmates are paying for the mistakes they already did prison!.. And you guards are only suppose to watch over the inmates and keep from getting out of hand. But yet you guards make matters worse then it already is. And how can you guards go home to your families thinking n feeling like you did a great job of hurting ppl? Is that what you teach your children? God is who judges every single one of us including you. Inmates are paying for there mistakes in prison and one day you gaurds will be too and soon.

Exactly. Why feel sorry for someone who has broken the law. These people have so many rights that it's rediculous. Inmates should have all rights revoked. All weights should be removed. Sheriffs around the country should take notice on Maricopa County's Sheriff.
Foreign and secret prisons [21]~400-20000
Two and a half million people in 2008 were incarcerated, 1 in every 138 people in the U.S. Sitting on their lazy butz letting U.S. working taxpayers take care of all their needs. Why should I feel sorry for anyone incarcerated?
