People are always leaving comments about how san benito is such an ugly city and how corrupt it is and how there is trash everywhere. My Question is where in san benito are you describing? What do you have against the city? I have lived here all my life and sure the city does have its problems but what city doesn't? If you think about it San Benito is not even close to being the worst city in the valley as far as being ugly. Mabye the politics I will admit but thats being taken care of at the present time.

The bad part about San Benito is that it is in Texas. I lived in Texas it is like living in a different country.

Ok not the answer I was looking for but I respect your answer because I would hate to move some where else because it is like living in another country.

You are right San Benito is far from the worst city in south Texas. Primera is by far the worst and most corrupt city in the Valley. Good luck to all those still STUCK in primera. I kinda liked San Benito, heaven when compared to Primera.

San Benito has become an embarrassment. Just look at the head lines from the S.B. News Paper. What's more insulting is that people are seeing the corruption and they rather look away. From the police department to the city hall.. pathetic.

White, Pink, Yellow or Blue you gotta love Freddy. He was just great! By the way can anyone tell me what happened to ole Chief Roberto Silva in Primera? I know he was thrown out of office but I don't know why. He is the reason we left Texas, God we loved Texas.

All of my peoples are from San Bene! From El Jardin, Texas...including Tio Valde AKA Freddy Fender. I chuckle often at the haters that don't respect or appreciate the fact that Freddy has 4 Grammies under his belt. A place in history as THE 1st Chicano to break into main stream country music and although he had a run in or two with the law, he paid his debt to society over and over and he also served his country as a marine. I've read some of the ugly comments that have been made about him, and you know for those trashing a deceased man...shame on you! When you put together your own scholarship program and reach the level of success Freddy did; and remain humble and true to your small home town like San Benito, then you can talk your smack. Until then stop hating (guardian) etc... and cut San Bene a break! I left the area and it's with immense pride that I tell everyone I can, "I'm from the Valley...My family is fron San Benito, Texas!!! Home of the Greyhounds!"

I was born in san benito, texas. My parents Antonio and luz rodriguez moved from san benito to be with us in cleveland, texas. My parents both in their early 80"s were brutuly murdered in their home in Cleveland, Texas on April, 14, 2005. Their case has never been solved. Nobody in the cleveland police department don't seem to care, there are suspects. We should have stayed in san benito, texas this would have never happened. The had a fruit stand on ratliff street called Rodriguez Fruit Stand, we miss them so much.

To the person that commented on my parents, I never imagined that someone would come out and say they knew them. I also remember people coming over and saying their kids did not have anyrhing to eat and my parents would fill a bag and give it to them, thank you i can still remember my parents giving watermelons and free grapes, thanks for the story.

...spoke with my Aunt yesterday about this and she told me that your Dad used to travel to Houston? to deliver fruit and he would always call my Grandfather (Tito Bocanegra) if he wanted to go with him....usually my Grandpa would be dropped off in Odem, Tx to visit his family and then your father would pick him up on the trip down..........
I think my Mom knew the lady who took over after your parents? she should be my Mom's age (around 53 yrs. old?)....long black hair.....anyway, my condolensces to your family ~ have a great weekend!

My dad, Antonio Z. Rodriguez used to sell watermelons at the farmers market in houston for years. They sold the fruit stand to my oldest brother Tony Jr. and his wife. So the lady at the fruit stand Gloria, is my sister in law. That last name sure sounds familiar.

yeah, my aunt said that your father and my grandfather were friends because they somehow knew that they were related.....through Bocanegra!
...I am absolutely sorry to hear about their murder. All you can do now is be happy that they're with the man upstairs....you will see them again, for now...I'm sure they'd like you to be happy in your life and know they're up there watching over you!

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aquarius

The more you want to control someone, or someone wants to control you, the more difficult life will be today. It's a Full Moon and a lunar eclipse, so the last thing you should do now is to act as though you own this person, or tell them what to do, because it will be an instant recipe for rebellion and trouble. Mars is retro in your house of significant others and open enemies after all. If you don't want to spoil the evening's celebrations you'll have to make compromises, and hope that this other person will do the same. Don't let the fuss stop you having a very happy New Year's Eve.
