Scotts Valley commuter bus arose out of the quake

...and the Hiway 17 bus still goes! I rode it to work and back from Scotts Valley to downtown San Jose for years after the quake! I luved riding that bus, made some good friends, read lots of books instead of "driving myself" and contributed to taking lots of single-driver cars off Hiway 17. Yes, I'd say that was a gooood thing that came out of the quake.
