Why is this man in jail!? I'm sure there is more to the story but at first glance this man did the community a favor. Regardless, thank you for you service Marine!

Get hold of Massod Ayoob or call Gun Owners of America. Once again self-defense and taking responsibility will be termed vigilanteism. We can no longer take care of ourselves. We can only do so through government proxies. Dial 911 and die...or wait for the chalk mark around your body. One fearing for his life should do nothing. Read "In the Gravest Extreme."

it just goes to show you that the good will not benefit by helping. his training kicked in and a life was lost. which is sad. but had he lived, he'd be able to continue robbing hard working people of their goods.

I don't suppose it occurred to any reporter from KOB to ask any pertinent follow up questions...like, say, what led police to charge the guy with murder? or were there extenuating circumstances that led to these charges? I remember when news outlets, even little local stations like here in Abq still used reporters for stories. I swear lately it seems like you all grab whatever you find on Twitter and pass it off as real journalism.

When they break out the windows of the vehicle you're in, yes. They are obviously threatening your life.

Perhaps VCSO doesn't want the competition and is afraid of being shown by the public that they are not the only ones who can catch thieves - quien Sabé, but lets hope that they find him innocent and let him go real soon.

If you're about to be killed by a criminal, what would you do? This man should be commended by the city, not charged with murder.

We are talking about Belen PD. Let's see they approach the Marines car and bust out his window...at that point... I keep telling everyone don't call the police, you will go to jail. Criminals have to many rights. You know these guys will have an extensive record. And I'll bet you money that the police knew who was doing the breakins....You can bet the Judge's let these guys slide a time or two.

Mr. Sanchez should be exonerated and all charges dropped. He was assaulted by two would be thieves who were on a theft mission. Charges are totally fabricated and should be studied carefully....if APD cannot do the job, citizens like Mr. Sanchez will. I applaud he for all his efforts...this will stink if he is charge and convicted for something our own police-force would or could not do....ty, Mr. sanchez....

this guy shouldnt be charged with murder, he was defending himself against someone that was already breaking the law.
This should be justified, the burglar basically asked for it since he decided to approach the mans vehicle and smash his window, he got what he deserved.
maybe his friend will think twice next time before he breaks into something.

People should call the DA and ask that this hero be let go. He was obviously defending himself against a thief.

This is just one more example
of the moral decay in our
civilian society and in our
poor excuse for a government
here in New Mexico. A man
defends his life while trying
to make a citizen's arrest and
HE is arrested for murder.
Again, shame on the moral
dolts and ultracorrupt "public
servants" here in Valencia
County, one of the worst
examples of modern government
coast to coast

Protecting yourself sounds like justifiable homicide to me. No jury will convict this guy on anything.
