If either of the two or both suspects approached him as he was trying to get the license plate numbers and busted his windshield, apparently he was in fear for his life and defending himself. It's called self-defense. However, my comment is made strictly based on this poorly written article.

In the Criminal loving state of New Mexico the Marine that worked hard to serve his country will likely have to pay restitution to this cockaroaches scum family.

The Marine's 2nd general order states: To walk my post in a military manner, keeping always on the alert, and observing everything that takes place within sight or hearing.

This Marine was doing exactly what he was trained for.

With the recent killing at the Denny's and the apparent MS-13 problem, why is APD missusing tax dollars and resources in order to criminalize a former Marine who went to war for our country, and was clearly in fear for his life. The Thugs advanced towards his vehicle and broke out his window in an attempt to harm him. This should be a no brainer.

You're damn right, ground arial. Once a Marine, always a Marine. I posted that under "former marine" and hit the post comment button without thinking. Forgive me this one time for being an old, old, Jarhead and getting a little senile. Had the clap one too many times in the Far East, I guess.

Sounds like whoever is accusing this ex Marine of anything other than self defense is either smoking or sniffing something illegal. If one has been observed committing a felony and then aggressively approaches a witness (smashing the witness's car window), that witness has every reason to believe that his life is in danger and has the moral and legal right to defend himself.
I suggest whoever is accusing this ex Marine lacks both intelligence and common sense.

My apologies for using "ex Marine", ground arial, REALLY and JUSMAG Marine. I should have known better; just getting old and senile I guess.

Too bad the Marine didn't take out both of the scum bags. It would be a break for tax payers.
I would have to admit that he might be guilty of practicing pest control without a license, but guilty of nothing more.

Today the news reported a "previous act" as if it were a bad thing. They said he had not that long ago held 2 BURGLARS AT GUNPOINT until the police came to arrest them. To me THIS IS NOT A PREVIOUS BAD ACT, but a previous act showing the guy is a SOLID CITIZEN with a social conscience. Release the jarhead! He IS a REAL hero! Hoooaaah! US Army Vet, Recon 11D40.

This man should be hailed a hero. It sounds to me like APD should hire him. He has served his country, let him go. In my opinion he has done this city two wonderful services, one serving our country, and two killing a piece of trash. No big deal, give him a medal!

The marine tried to do the right thing in a non violent way. The criminals attacked him. He responded with appropriate force nuff said Semper FI

Maybe this will convince other criminals to think before they attack civilians

Garys Proud Neice, I don't understand your post. Please clarify are you the niece of the marine? Or are you the niece of the man that was shot? Not trying to be mean, just want some clarification please. Thank you.

You're feeling conciliatory and compassionate today, and you're ready to bury the hatchet if you've been at odds with someone recently. You may have to make the first move, and risk getting a brush off, but you'll consider that a small price to pay if it means you're able to restore the peace. The relief you feel will tell you how much this has been preying on your mind.
