Reward offered in attack on Jewish man in North Hollywood

The Anti-Defamation League and the Los Angeles City Council are offering a $30,000 reward in the attack on an Orthodox Jewish man who was walking last month in North Hollywood.

I think it is very sad and unfortunate that hate crimes like this occur, against the Jewish Community, and I believe that they should not be tolerated. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victim and his family.

What can someone expect when the catholic churches endorsed ethnic cleansing since 1095 (Pope Urban II), 1945 (Picus II) and 1990's (John Paul II). If the messiah ever came, the lamb and lion would've laid down in pastures and lived harmoniously thereafter. If that was the basic premise, we'd have no more hatered and there would have never been templars.

When the economy is in the tank, it's been historically consistent that the Jewish people have always been unjustifiably blamed. Let's face it, when folks are not educated, they take out their anger on those they deem more fortunate. Not rational, but that's the way it's always been. Just goes to show that there is tremendous racism even our "Golden State". I didn't get that from the article --wonder how long it would take someone to blame it on someone Mexican. First Mexicans aren't skinheads and second they were not speaking Spanish. In fact I'm not going to comment on what race did it. It should go down as a hate crime and hopefully it will.

Let me get this straight.
The liberal politicians have been promoting hatred toward the Jewish and Catholic faiths for some time now.
Now, they continue their disdain toward certain religious faiths while promoting Radical Islam.
The pathetic dollar figure that was placed on an individual (as reward for intel) due to their faith shows how low the LA city council has climbed into the sewer.
I did not hear this crime and act of violence against someone of the Jewish faith a HATE CRIME.
This is a hate crime and the city council and mayor should apologize to the Jewish community.
I also did not hear from the Arab community stating that the Arab community had nothing to do with this act of religious hatred.
I hope this country is not heading down the ugly pTH OF REPEATING THE HISTORY OF 1938 !

Dino and DZK both seem to have the same reading problem: the article clearly states that the attackers spoke a language OTHER than English or Spanish. Doesn't say if they were Caucasian/white, but assume so, since doesn't say otherwise -- there are lots of anti-Semitic Russians here, south Slavs, etc.-- in Europe, they're amongst the worst anti- Semites, since they're looked down on by Western Europeans, so they then want to prove their "superiority" to someone else, the Jews.

Don't know if that's the case, but if so, and these thugs live in the area, the police should be willing to confront the specifics of the situation so that the Jewish community can be warned, and they monitored more closely. There are much less common, but still prevalent, hate crimes going on all over than just between blacks and Hispanics.(Like Russians-Armenians, blacks-Asians, and these skinheads vs. Jews.)

Many Jewish people carry a list of hateful prejudices, sometimes even against other groups of Jewish people. They are not all peaceful amd nonviolent. Do they have to kill and torture Palestinians?

You read my mind! I was afraid to say it in my post above, but there is quite a history of anti-semitic Russian/Eastern European skin heads in the valley. The irony is that some of their families, who left the former Soviet Union years ago, claimed as little as 1/16th Jewish blood in order to fulfill asylum requirements. The same happened in Israel around 15-20 years ago. Of course, no skinheads there! They'd get their @#^! whupped.

I know what the article said. I'm sure DZK does/did too. I can't speak for DZK, but I made my remark in pure, unadulterated SARCASIM. If you read through Topix a bit, you will find that some people will blame all the ills in the world on a few things, REGARDLESS of what the actual cause is. So, In no particular order -
