It's about time that the City Council and the Mayor's office get rid of Boks. He's a train wreck. His history in this position is a travesty, and the worst part is that he is killing more animals than any other GM in the history of the Animal Department, and lying about his numbers. The sooner he's gone, the better. Nathan Winograd has the right idea - "there are 3 ways to stop the killing: stop the killing, stop the killing, stop the killing."

I used to work with Boks. If he is receiving emails that support him and his actions, they are coming from him and maybe one other personal friend. Boks used to ask everyone to send in multiple emails to the Mayor's office supporting him every time he made a mistake. He told us to use a few email addresses so it'd look like more pepole. No one is doing that for him any more as we all realized he's a total fraud who is harming animals. Why can't the Mayor see this? What does this guy have over the Mayor?

Merry Stewart,
Unfortunately Boks tried to just "stopthekilling." The shelters got overcrowded and three times as many died from illness and injury caused by the overcrowding. An extra 2,000 a year died from overcrowding. You need a way to reduce the numbers coming in and increase the numbers going out before you can just stop killing them.

The West San Fernando Valley needs a senior center to accommodate the over 30,000 seniors living here. There has never been a senior center, nor a community center, nor a Boys and Girls Club built for the residents of the far end of the San Fernando Valley. It is time to write Councilman Zine and other government authorities to get their support for a senior center. There has been an 3 l/2 effort to bring this problem to the Neighborhood Councils and Councilman Zine. Do your part to make this wonderful senior center happen by contacting them to voice your opinion.

A great idea but what does the need for a Seniors Center have to do with spaying and neutering dogs and cats?

Can we also require "illegal aliens" to get spayed and neutered?

That might be a partial solution to their anchor baby progeny.

Yes, Ed has fooled a lot of people who he talked into helping support him. I think those people no longer exist. He is done in this town and after this fiasco, I can't imagine where he could even find a job. Guess he'll have to go back to preaching, unfortunately that job always seems to take in pathological, narcissitic, liars. He's perfect for it.
