I'll try this one last time--this is the fifth comment that I've tried to post--none have posted.

There is no reason why Scott J. Barker and Chie Johnson should not get life if found guilty--California still has the death penalty and I do not know the reason why this was not considered. There is no reasonable defense for such a heinous crime. Tony was unarmed, the murder was premeditated, deliberate, senseless and brutal.

If Ms Johnson's claim that Tony physically abused her, this would not justify Tony's brutal murder--she had other options. If true she had left Tony for a new boy friend so there was no reason for her and Barker to return to Tony's Beverly Hills home.

"In his hometown of West Springfield, Scott J. Barker is remembered by friends and acquaintances as nonconfrontational and quiet - someone who would warmly host parties while in high school."

Tony was not too much different, he was loved and will be missed by many friends who just had a memorial for him this week end.

R.I.P. Tony--you'll always be in our hearts.

Our family sends our deepest sympathy to Tony Takazatos family and friends. We had the privilege of meeting Tony when he participated in an online gaming site and attended tournaments with our son. He was extremely bright, courteous and friendly. His passing at a young age and the devastating manner of his death are heart wrenching. May those responsible for this horrendous act be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Tony is at peace now and no one can ever hurt him again. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, Id walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again.

It is certainly nice to read comments from people who were touched by Tony's life and to let people know that Tony will be missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him. I have read more in the last few days about Barker than Tony and this has upset me.

Tony was a school friend to my son, who often went to Tony's home to spend time to hang out and attend some of Tony's parties. My son has had to deal with the brutal and senseless murder of a close friend whom he has spent his middle and high schools years with. Tony was one my son's closest friends.

Hope that Barker and Johnson will have time to think of what they have taken from the world as they spend the rest of their lives in prison. They too have lost so much.

@FineTunes - I cannot even imagine the tremendous pain your son is experiencing now. My heartfelt condolences go out to him.

I also agree that the alleged murderers, Barker and Coggins-Johnson, should be dealt the death penalty upon conviction. In addition, there should not have been any bail amount set. If, by some extraordinary means bail was met, they could be walking free until proven guilty.

Enough written about Scott Joseph Barker who is painted as an good, normal kid who could no wrong. Coggins-Johnson was abused?! Who says?! Tony was a good guy and he is not here to defend himself.

We will never forget Tony. May justice be served.

Before anyone judges remember innocent until proven quilty. We all do not know what really happened. I see it as one boy gone and one boy in jail. What about the girl that caused all of this. She must be an evil person. She is to blame for this and she will pay the price. she has destroyed both of the boys life.

If you are interested in the trial process, it starts
08/26/2010 @ 08:30 am, Beverly Hills Muni/Sup Court Department B01, 9355 Burton Way, Beverly Hills for both coggins and barker. Not familiar with criminal law, but I think that it's their preliminary hearing.

Yeh, right. It is the gf's fault. Control and educate yourself!

No one puts the knife in the killer's hand and makes him stab a someone to death.

Blaming the victim is so prevalent - especially blaming women. The mother was a bad mother (where is the dad anyway?). The girlfriend said this or did that. The battered wife could have left, etc.

Take responsibility for your own actions. How many bfs would have have stabbed the ex-bf? Let alone based on what the gf said?

Give me a break.

I've never served on a jury for a murder. I'm sure it would be quite interesting but sad too.
