My aunt is hospitalized there and all her family live in WV we were just wondering if it is a good hospital.

THEY WILL CUT YOUR BALLS OFF AND FEED THEM TO YOU FOR LUNCH,A THIRD WORLD HOSPITAL..THAT LOVES ILLEGALS...HAVE YOU SEEN THEIR COMMERCIALS LATELY? |
|
Disregard the idiot who posted before me. Kaiser isn't the best of hospitals, but their service is impeccable. Doctors there are well trained. A great percentage of them graduated from ivy league schools. If you research your doctor before choosing, its a great experience. |

I appreciate you letting me know about the hospital. I am not from there and my aunt most likely will not make it. But I just wanted to know that she would get good treatment.

Any hospital is only as good as it's employees. It could be the same company/hospital just different city and one might be excellent where as the other one might not. |

exactly! The hospital is only as good as the employees. Kaiser isn't a 'bad' corporation, it's just sometimes difficult to deal with because of the 'hmo' thing. And that's more of an insurance thing. Kaiser saved my dear friends life and gave her 2 years when she thought she would only have 2 months....so i think i could put up with their HMO-style policies. |

I really appreciate it I am not from LA I am in WV and I know where you are coming from about the insurance and HMO thing. A social worker called asking about that information none of which I can answer. The one thing I can tell you I learned if you are going to live on different coasts let your family know about some of that information.

so true! family members have to stay in touch, especially when living far apart. Just 'state to state' can be difficult! We finally decided to keep a file on each of our parents with all the important 'info' along with Medical Power of Attorney, Living Will, DNR, blood type, etc. That way, when that 3 AM phone call comes, we have somewhat of a clue. good luck to you and your family. I hope this additional info helps. |

Great advice. Working in the field I could not have said it better myself. |

The coverage is very good. The service one receives depends on the persenal you deal with at the time.
That runs from affirmative action to very competent. I recommend it. |

The death has nothing to do with the person being Filipino, it had to do with acrylic nails which nobody who comes in contact with a patient should have. So don't mislead people who will be avoiding Filipino nurses and not the true soure, which was the nails. And if anybody has noticed many nurses from the CNAs to the RNs have acrylic nails. Make sure you look for this with the people caring for your loved ones. |

ok...i'm probably uneducated on this one...but what is the health risk with the nails?(i have very short nails and have never had a manicure) Does the acrylic have a toxin? or are they more likely to carry bacteria? I'm just being true to my name...CURIOUS |

Bacteria. It gets under the nails and just grows. It's a very resistant strain even young people are dying from it, mostly however is the very young and the very old. It's mostly hospital acuired not only through nails but not washing hands properly. It's costing insurance companies so much money that they are not willing to pay for it anymore. |

ok. I've heard of a bacteria that is acquired from getting manicure/pecicures....is this the same bacteria? That's scary. I would never let anyone touch my feet, that's for sure. I did have a manicure one time, and it didn't even last. No acrylics...just a 'French Manicure' and darned if it didn't peel off the first time i got in my pool. I was p***** big time.(fortunatly i didn't have to pay for it...it was a gift) but after that, i saw no sense in paying for something that would peel off so easily. Ok..i know...random.....getting back to the bacteria. Does this bacteria turn into Staph or something equally nasty? |
