Fact is that recently 1996 Bimetallic 500 Yuan Chinese Panda Coins was sold for U.S.$100,000.00 at auction! This 500 Yuan Bimetallic Chinese Panda Coins are made of 5 ounces of gold in the center and 2 ounces of silver on the rim. The mintage of this coin is 199 and sold for U.S.$7,500.00 in 1998!

Why's everyone raving about the 1996 bimetallic. I own the 1995 bimetallic which was the first bimetallic 500 yuan minted. Mine's #10 of 199.
