I think today’s political cartoon by Patrick O’Connor is disgusting. Obviously he has no clue as to the discipline procedure of LAPD. Does he realize that ANY frivolous complaint can result in a suspension? Or a supervisor with an axe to grind can suspend you for ANYTHING?? So what Mr. O’Connor is suggesting is that though wrongly accused, that officer should face financial ruin, and then when exonerated to tell him "oh well, were sorry"?????? Being a retired police officer, people would be shocked at the wholesale abuse of the discipline system and Board of Rights. It sometimes takes a year before an officer faces a board of rights, in the mean time, without the program provided by the LAPPL, paid by police officers themselves, that officer should just twist in the wind????? NO TAXPAYER MONEY IS INVOLVED HERE SO WHAT THE HELL IS HIS PROBLEM????? Leave us alone Mr. O’Connor, you've done enough damage to this city with your one sided commentary. And people wonder why it is so hard to recruit officers.....WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!
