Normally, a President's minor children are considered off limits for the press and news media to feed on. But since President Obama pawned that traditional privacy for his endorsement of gay marriage as a campaign issue for the 2012 Presidential Election, in a national TV news interview, they seem fair game for the following comment, respectfully.
Four years ago going into his first term, the President was against gay marriage. Four years later coming to the end of his first term, the President is for gay marriage.
Four years ago, his youngest daughter Sasha was 7 but is now 11 four years later. Four years ago, his oldest daughter Malia was 10 but is now 14 four ears later.
The President claims that he changed his stance on gay marriage because he was sitting at the dinner table with his two daughters who asked him why their friends' parents don't have rights like everybody else.
But it seems to me that more than likely, he changed his view because recently there was a realization that either one or both girls may be gay. So, it would make sense that he would want them to grow up in a world where, if they choose to have a gay (homosexual) marriage, they would have the same rights and benefits as any straight (heterosexual) married couple.
Please don't misunderstand this and take it the wrong way. This is not an anti-gay thread. Nor is it an endorsement of gay marriage either. It is just a piece of objective journalism, in my humble opinion.
I would appreciate your thoughts and comments on the subject, please. And thank you for taking the time to read it. I really appreciate it.
