Think about it...$20K within 34 days. Unless he can throw a baseball, dunk a b-ball from the half court line or, dig into his stash-o-cash he's going back into custody. It's one thing to dodge the system yet, to force someone to come up with that kind of money in such a short period of time is impossible. There are no winners.

They found him, what next? He'll have to commit some serious crimes to come up with the loot. This is a waste of money and jail space.

This whole Child Support issue needs some serious re-direction. The DA and the County Supervisor + Child Support are in it again for Political reasons.
What a total waste of TAXPAYERS DOLLARS. They have no concept of what it takes to raise a family on a low-income budget. Hell, 95% of LA is low-income. They just like to destroy peoples lives and make good on TV News. I say fire the DA, fire the County Supervisor & fire the head of Child Support. Just a WASTE OF TAXPAYERS MONEY.
Its BS

Doesn't add up!
Besides, who in their right mind can say that they have spend $427,000 by the time they reach 18yrs of age.....
Thats BS!

They'll spend more money then he owes in childs support putting him in jail, the costs of the Police to arrest him, the County jail, the Courts and attorneys involved, plus all the cost of the paper work. What a waste of Taxpayers money.

Once again, the Great County of Los Angeles at work for the publics safety. What a waste of time. Next they be arresting people for watering there lawns.
This a a Total Joke and misuse of the legal system. Such a waste of monies. They should have spent all the monies from this Top 10 list and put towards the schools here in LA. This practice is gonna cost more money then it takes in.

Taken from the Daily News:
My friend just told me about the Daily News Story. I've read it, and I've read the postings. Top this one for Child Support.
My ex-husband was ordered to pay $500 something a month. He went to jail, the child support payments stopped. After he got out of jail, he started gang banging again and sadly got killed. The Child Support had a case on him over the years. They never really did anything. I found out that I could get SSA from Social Security for my daughters throu his SS number/benefits.
I now have been receiving SSA of around $1800.00 per month for the past 14 months. It will last unitl my kids are the age of 18.
No one in Child Support every told me about this program. What a bunch of DUMB F_CKS they are. I'll bet these people couldn't even screw a light bulb in right. In death my ex-husband is taking care of his daughters, no thanks to the Child Support Dept.
Also, I have had those same people knocking on my front door over the years looking for him. What a bunch of Crap they are. If you have a ex-husband that passwed away and have kids. I recommend you call your Social Security Office and file the the SSA benefits. All you need is the death certificate.
And by the way, the Child Support Dept in Los Angeles SUCKS, Social Security is better run then you fools.

It's an "easy" arrest going after those who owe back child support. Why doesn't law enforcement officials spend its time and resources going after "real" criminals!

Go to www.dailynews.com/news and search for CHILD SUPPORT. They did a real good Editorial on the LA Top 10 List today.
Wish more news sources would look into the other side of the stories, and show the public both sides.
Fair is fair in news gathering and reporting.
KUDOS to the Los Angeles Newspaper Daily News for taking the issue at hand.

Imprisonment for Debts Has Been Eliminated, or Has It?

In 1833 the practice of imprisonment for debts was eliminated at the federal level. Most states followed suit.

Today, it is still possible to be thrown or remain in jail for debt. Debts of fraud, child-support, alimony, or release fines can land you in jail or prevent you from being released from it.
What a wonderfully screwed up legal system we have here the good old US. The DA's office uses Contempt of court charges against you to land you in jail. When will ever stop.
Last time I checked, the US was at War with terroists, not parents that couldn't make child support payments.
Whats next for the Los Angeles County Elected Officials, Putting us in jail for expressing our concerns and rights. I'm sorry, they already did that. These elected officals need to go. The County Supervisor that Okayed these funds of 500k, the DA's own little Police Dept. and the LA County Child Support Dept.
Do we live a Communist run State/??? I seem to have forgetten that California has always been known as a POLICE STATE. These actions by LA County prove it again.

If he goes to prison, his 'current' child support obligation can change to zero per month. He will still be responsible for the arrears.

I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY DON'T HAVE A BIGGER LIST THAN 10! THERE IS ALOT MORE. THE COUNTY NEEDS TO LIST ALL OF THE "DEADBEAT PARENTS" NOT JUST THE TOP 10! I KNOW THERE'S ALOT OF THEM THAT LEFT CALIFORNIA. I WISH THEY HAD A LIST OF ALL THE NAMES, THEN OFFERED A REWARD TO SUBMIT TIPS FOR THE WHEREABOUTS OF THOSE CRIMINALS!
