The Book of Mormon: This Is Not What You Think It Is

"The Book of Mormon: This Is Not What You Think It Is" because it's not the book.
IT'S THE BROADWAY PLAY!!!
Written by "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, along with Avenue Q's Robert Lopez, "The Book of Mormon" is the tale of two young Church of Latter Day Saints missionaries sent to a Ugandan village, for two years, where they learn that the residents are more focused on finding salvation from serious daily life struggles and issues than they are on finding eternal salvation for the soul.
Known for their controversial views on religion played out in the animated "South Park" series, Stone and Parker did not hold back the punches here with "The Book of Mormon". If you've seen the "South Park" TV show, you may be familiar with episodes poking fun at anything religious ranging from Scientology and Mormonism to the Catholic Church and Evangelicalism. It even has Jesus and Satan as recurring characters. And in one episode, it even pits them in a public boxing match against one another. Although the series does poke fun at the organized religions, perhaps exposing them as in reality being disorganized in nature, there is no doubt that it does focus on serious issues of religion/spirituality and at times places them in a meaningful light.
I will confess that I have not seen the broadway play. I guess I'm not that fortunate. I have seen some things about it on television news though. And I have read a few things on it. But if it rises to the level of South-Parkian philosophy, no wonder it is a smash hit. Yes, I think I just coined that word -- "South-Parkian". Feel free to use it.
Hey, Matt and Trey, how about sending 2012 Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney, who just happens to be a devout Mormon, an open invitation. And throw in one for President Obama, just for good measure.
Does God have a sense of humor? I think so. Look at us. And like the Holy Bible says, laughter works good like a medicine. A medicine apparantly needed in this day and time.

Okay, you can start throwing the rotten tomatoes now. LOL!!!
"LA Weekly" did a Sep. 15 2012 article on the broadway play in their Theater section. You can read "The Book of Mormon Review: Yes, It Has Cursing, But It Also Has Heart" by Rebecca Haithcoat at the following link.

My dream is to see this play one day. Matt and Trey have a sick fascination with Mormons. (and so do I ). Geeze AC, you must have been up late. Off to the races for some fun. Maybe If I am lucky a plastic trophy to pile up in the garage.

We did not see the play either but some of us loved it and some of us fell asleep and some of us don't tell what we think until after we thought it, but they are rude for delaying the expression. As Rousseau would have said " is a bear catholic, does the pope shiit in the woods?" None of this matters if you are unwilling to try sailing. We have joined with a troupe of lady karaoke singers and while the tunes arent good they are rousing. Rise!

Yeah. I was up late. I get it when I can. Topix.
Came across the LA Weekly article while looking at another LA Weekly article posted on Topix.
That sick fascination ... it wouldn't be the polygamy now would it? Oh. Wait. It's Romney, ain't it? LOL!!! Apparantly, he's Obama's sick fascination too.
Well, how did the races go? Enquiring minds have to know.

Oh, crap! My reply comment accidently posted 3 times. I think I accidently hit the 'Post Comment' button repeatedly. Either that ... or?!
I'm not trying to force enough posts in a short amount of time to turn it into a hot thread with the flame. Honest, I'm not.

Maybe they had some personal experiences. I'm beginning to think that maybe one or both of them could've been Mormon as a youngster. I don't know their politics. Trey and Matt. I just wonder if they are for Mittens (said respectfully). Yeah, I'm officially hearby dubbing Mitt Romney the "gloved one". Remember Michael Jackson? Romney's campaign slogan could've been: "Put Mitt on the job ... he can handle it." Get it? LOL!!! Oh. That's not an endorsement by the way. Keep 'em guessing!

Last time I opened up the middle pages of the Book of Mormon, I saw a great picture of Sarah Palin taking it up the butt from a good looking burro.
