Its too bad the entire city knows this wasn't the Mayor's choice but Bratton's before he left. Too bad the Daily News can't report the facts that other reporters have stated and that is this selection process was flawed and fixed. Too bad the other great candidates will now may be asked to retire to let this creep Beck who was not on the finialist list be Chief. We're not stupid and we all know this was a fixed process.

So now LA has to get the approval of the discredited, race hustler buffoon Al Sharpton?! Why does Orlov even mention this clown?

What a sham the whole selection process was. Rick, can't believe you don't have the real story. Fixed from the get go.

Has Beck lost weight since he was announced 2 weeks ago? He looks better here, more like an LAPD cop. Not like those donut-stuffing pretend ones who "used to be" like Dennis Zine and some of their cronies who don't reflect well on the force. If they don't get to end up on the city council throwing their weight around they're on movie sets directing traffic where they belong.

Dave From Panorama City is right about Dennis and the other conspiracy theorists, they need a good sale on aluminum foil to make more of those hats. They're all Trutanuch and Zine fans by the way, pipe up to support whatever they do, figures.

LAPD, my family and I thank you so much for protecting us. We see vigilant patrols in our community especially at more vulnerable hours. Helicopters help shine light with air assist.

We're working from family unit to friends to neighbors to emanate peace and love. Making a difference in our beloved valley and city.

Congrats Charlie Beck!

Charlie Beck is a good man having worked around him in 77th Area when he and I were both young officers. He was a hard worker, dependable and knows what its like to be a street cop. We wish him luck and greatful that a hard working officer who has paid his dues throughout his career has been selected to be once again, be the chief of one of the nation's best police departments. God Bless CB...

Good luck and God speed, Chief Beck. I think the citizens and the officers will both embrace your leadership. Please return the glory and shine to the badge of that which one at one time the most respected agency on earth.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Aries

There is minor evil around today, whether it is harsh words or actions. Relationships with non spiritual people will tend to be abrasive, as you come to understand that such people can never be trusted, for their agenda is not love. Beware of criticism from colleagues or friends. Avoid being narrow minded and confining your views to the conventional. You may want to argue with everyone and everything, but beware of devouring your own energy in the process.
