Mayor Tony stopped using the "Subway to the Sea" meme a while ago, when he started pushing his "30/10" Initiative to build out the entire network instead of just one line.
I think that's a good trade, trading in 1/3. of a subway line for an entire network of subway and light rail line pretty much throughout Los Angeles.
And you readers of the Daily News should like that, because 30/10 does include a line along the 405 freeway (maybe a subway!) as one of the projects, to connect the Westside with the San Fernando Valley. For once, the Valley is NOT getting short changed.
Isn't that better?

What the heck?$4.2 BILLION to build a train to go 9 MILES? That's $88,421 for EACH LINEAR FOOT???? That's just nuts. That's just got to be the worst idea I've ever heard. Sort of smells like Alaska's "bridge to nowhere." And what's with this hurry-hurry to get the funding then change the plans then...what's next? More smoke and mirrors? Do we really need to spend $88,421 a linear foot for ANYTHING when the city, county and state are going broke? OMG! I just can't believe this stuff...

Total waste of taxpayer's money! These funds should be going into electric cars and double decker freeways.
