Some of the people interviewed in this article do not get out much. Anywhere you travel in the world you are required to carry documentation to prove that you belong there(either a tourist card or a visa). I understand that there is some semblance of racism behind this law. The problem is we are becoming a third world country. If we are to survive as a nation, we need to give back to society and be productive. To legalize everyone solely on them being here is asinine.

The argument does not fly that the working poor contribute to our economy. If a family of five earns less than $18,000/year and three of them are school age children. There is no contribution to our economy. In Cali, it cost an average of $8,000 to educate a child. That is $24,000 spend by tax payers to educate these children. This does not include medical care and welfare benis. The only one that benefits from low skill workers being here are the big corporations not society. Despierten nos estan robando, gueyes!

Go Arizona!!

You have the enthusiastic support of over 60% of Americans! The open borders/La Raza/MEChA crowd are petrified that AB1070 will, and already is, working as intended!

First I think these MEXICANS need to go home and fix their own laws so they aren't such huge hypocrits.

And once they have changed their own laws so that illegal immigrants to their own country aren't treated WORSE than we treat them when their here illegally, then they can get in the BACK of the line to immigrate to this contry.

And if they think we suck so much, why the heck are they here to begin with? It's not like their stuck here and we won't let the return to their own country; their fighting to stay her in the same country they claim to despise because of our "racest laws".

If you're one of them do me a favor, shut up and go home, and take your family with you.

This is like having someone break into your home, raid the frige, sleep in your bedroom, and complain because they don't like the fact that you don't watch Spanish language TV.

If you hate it so much LEAVE AND DON'T COME BACK.

These guys need to go to Arizona to do this. This is California, and our traffic is slow and bad. This demonstration makes the slow down worse.

Has anyone explained to these people (protesting in Calif) that California has the SAME, EXACT law on the books! It passed back around 2000, and not a peep! But AZ copies it (good for them) and everyone goes nuts.
To allow illegal immigrants to stay here is slap in the face to all immigrants in the past that came here the CORECT way, legally!
And to see them protesting in california is a joke!
Read the laws!
And who cares if you have to carry ID, WE ALL DO!

I think they (law) should take it further and questions anyone that shows up at a hospital, if it's serious, take care of that and then put them in an ambulance and send them to a hospital in Mexico. That would save us untold money.
I live about an hour from the border, we get guys that broke their foot jumping over the fence, and we pay for it! I say shove the back over!
Immigrate the correct way and there should be no problem.

I've been to Mexico a few times and they don't have obnoxious protesters like this down there.

I suspect the Mexicans we see here are the REJECTS that couldn't act out at home, so they came here where they know they can trash talk the US and get away with it.

If they waved signs and trash talked Mexico when they were at home the police would beat the daylights out of them.

Beaners with banners. Why are they up on the freeway protesting when everyone else is driving to work? They should be out there doing the jobs Americans won't do. The problem with these idiots is written on their sign - 1070...We won't comply. The law means nothing to these animals. People like this are certainly not an asset to this country. They gotta go.

Mexico's immigration law:

As the Supreme Court and politicians seek to bring U.S. law in line with foreign legal norms, it's noteworthy that no one has argued that the United States look at what Mexico might teach us about how to solve our illegal-immigration problem. Mexico has a single, streamlined law, seeking to ensure that foreign visitors and immigrants are:

• In the country legally.

• Have the means to sustain themselves economically.

• Not destined to be burdens on society.

• Of economic and social benefit to society.

• Of good character, with no criminal record.

The law also seeks to ensure that:

• Immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor.

• Foreign visitors do not violate their visa status.

• Foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country's internal politics.

• Foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported.

• Foreign visitors violating terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported.

• Anyone who aids in illegal immigration is imprisoned.

Who could disagree with such a law?
