How greedy can Chabad get? The guy has passed, and they're going after his wife? Unbelievable.

Chabad depends on donations and probably spent this pledge so they need to collect $$.

It's about the lawyer, too. That's were the greed starts, the fire burns, and so will he.

"Despite a lack of written agreement." With all those attorneys Chabad must have, not one thought to at least get a signed letter of intent? Oy vey!

That's pretty much par for the course with that fool. Mr. big UCLA talking that way about Jews, especially when they comprise such a large part of the Westwood campus. Don't hold your breath waiting for the bigoted anti-semite to get his act together or get off the boards, it will never happen. And that remark is not the first example of him making bRUINS look bad. Go figure.

And he still won't address the all-time 14-15-1 bowl record. Nuthin but coward.

Why is MB dude so out of line? Like none of us have ever heard, or used the term "being Jewish" when referring to being greedy or a penny pincher?
He hit it right on the head...it is what it is!
Also feel they are pretty shady organization for going after this widow...the lady lost her husband and most of her assets, what more do you want?
If someone has to explain to you why he is out of line you are as clueless as he is. When people speak like this about ANY group it suddenly becomes socially acceptable as you've illustrated.

BTW, Chabad is not a "shady organization" but I do agree it's in bad taste to go after the dead man's estate.

First, a note to MB dude: You apologized and manned up to the "bad joke." Still, I hope you realize your comment was incredibly racist, whether you were joking or not.

Second, to Good vs. Evil, are you serious? Does, Hitler, the Holocaust and the overall anti-Semitic stereotyping of Jews through the course of history ring a bell? Hello!

Just because stupid comments that equate being Jewish to penny pinching and greed have been used repeatedly in the past, it doesn't make it right.

It's not "it is what it is."

Are you glad we won World War II. Well, you can thank a Jew, Albert Einstein for having a hand in it.

Are you glad you don't have polio? You can thank a Jewish doctor, Jonas Salk, for that.

Appreciate good art? There's Marc Chagall, a Jew.

How about good music. Heard of Leonard Bernstein? He is Jewish, too.

The jury's still out on Alan Greenspan, but you get the picture.

Jews have contributed to the fabric of American society as much as any group in existence, so quit running them down and get a clue.

I don't think the widow is doing all that badly. All those mortgage bankers hid large assets in Swiss banks anyway. Besides, the family didn't mind all of the positive exposure they received when his donation was announced.
