Good for Rocky, and Van Nuys may just see its glory again. The next injunction should be to stop building these low income housing in the area that fester gangs. I suggest start building these housing projects since everything is paid by taxpayers anyway closer to the desert.

Gee, he's about 6 weeks away from being termed out and NOW he's getting another worthless injunction? Why didn't he at least do this when he first got into office?

very wise daily news. lets name the gang, put them in the headline, compare them to ms13, etc. they were probably so excited to read this they are cutting out the article and pasting it on their wall. it does not benefit a non criminal to know the name of the street gang - we only need to know that a dangerous gang exist in that area. dont give them any credit (by their standards).

I'm no Rocky Delgadillo fan but that's a pretty lame criticism, I also believe the injunctions to be pretty ineffective but he's been bringing these down on different gangs in different areas for years now.

I understand that he's been doing this for years. I've not seen any real benefit from these injunctions so my criticism is not lame. Why go to the expense if the CA is not going to follow up and let us know about their effectiveness? Answer me that.

Criticizing the effectiveness of the injunctions is not lame, criticizing the timing (six weeks before he leaves office), which was the point of your post, is.

My point is that he's been doing these injunctions for a while now. Why didn't he put together a tougher injunction to cover all gangs instead of piece meal? That is what ticks me off.

Villar won't like any one messin' with his homies!
L.A. is a Chicanocrat majority town and violence, hate, and intolerance for others is the future. Pretending to want to reduce the number of Gangsters is childish nonsense.

I Lived in Van Nuys For 20 Years this City gets worse with Gangs Drugs, and Kids under 13 years old that wanted to be in the gang, using drugs. After that, the City of Van Nuys are surrounded with Latinos,Homless people,Latino Womens with their kids on strollers. Afterthat We want the City Of San Fernando Valley to be a safest City to install Police Cameras on Blvd's,Avenues, and Streets.

I stopped calling the cops a looong time ago. They dont come anyway if if theres shootings....and they're right down the street!
BVN has to much experience with cops and will simply evade them.
If your a cop thats in charge of patrolling delano, erwin, calvert, tiara, sepulveda, etc... you will find yourself asking urself this: "Where are all the vannuys'ers at?" WELL, that because they can see you coming around the freaking corner!
This isnt going to work one bit, BVN is too patient for this....

If only L.A ciitzen/voters could be declared custodial wards of some other large American City government.

It seems so cruel to leave the mentally deficient citizen/voters to their own devices after they have consistently failed to show the minimun of common sense needed to function on their own.

Abandoning L.A. citizens to make their own political choices is like leaving an unsupervised child in a Match Factory.

i've lived in van nuys over 30+ years and it's true the gang is right where the van nuys police station is. van nuys has many public official buildings there and it's embarrasing that we cant control the gangs. many people visit those city buildings. the entire city needs a makeover and we need more programs for the youth. give them gyms to work out there anger. the police officers should volunteer their time to be positive role models to the kids. better programs for after school. more police in the schools where a lot of school staff doesnt want to get involved with the things they see. educate the parents with signs to see if their kids are involved in gangs. van nuys middle school is supposedly a magnet school except they have too many gang members. i know its only middle school but at that age kids become more daring. they want to prove how tough they are and they pick on innocent kids. i love van nuys(the city). but we need a lot of improvement!!! get ex-gang members to talk to the kids and tell them how the gang life doesnt get them anywhere and how they are basically ready to die for something that will never belong to them.

It is horribly embarrising. The Public Buildings are a reminder of a time when LA government actually served the citizens. And, believe it orn not, when being a Los Angeles Democratic voter wasn't the most shameful admission a citizen could make.

hey Becky, getting ex bangers to talk to kid's about the realities of gang violence does not work, look up Blinky Rodriguez and Communities in Schools and then do some research on there crooked shady inner workings.i dont know witch ex gangmembers your speaking about cause there are plenty employed at CIS that have a hard time living a straight life, they are all druggies and perverted lunatics, you really want these kind of scumbag preaching to misguided youth, look up Mario Corona ,this guy went from being a Pacoima gangmember to USC grad,he was CIS's poster child, success story etc, well that did'nt last to long, one day after leaving the offices of CIS in Northhills he was pulled over and police officer's discovered 3 pounds of cristal meth taped up tight around his body and also found weapons and ammo stashed at his home! so go ahead Becky and misinform people about who should be mentoring these kid's.most CIS empployees end up in jail and 2 have been murdered in the past.
