I was in the area but not at the scene anyway. I didn't do it and don't know who did, but I expect that there will be calls for the driver to be deported though.

Death penalty. Instantly, with so many witnesses there is no doubt. Stop wasting taxpayers money with cases like this. These people were crossing in the crosswalk, holding hands. Wow, if that doesnt get you, nothing will.

Agree, try the driver of the fleeing car for a case of attempted murder for every incident in a car chase, regardless of wheter they kill someone or not. BTW, notice they didn't say anything about the fact they guy's apparently not from the US.

Not at the scene, doesn't know who did it. Could of been any race and the only thing you worry about is that the SOB gets deported.

Doesn't sound like much of a chase though. It sounds as if he was stopped at a red light then tried to take off anyway. Is this just another sensational headline to induce people to buy the paper or read the article, as the Daily Breeze is wont to do more often than not.

The description of the traffic accident doesn't make sense. "The bodies flew quite a ways, so rescuers were looking about a block away to find people who may have had other injuries," Davies said" Witnesses told broadcast outlets that the pedestrians were holding hands and walking in a crosswalk when the suspect's vehicle, which had been stopped for a red light, suddenly lurched forward and hit them. "So when people crossed the street, this guy, and with officers behind him, just ran the light, hit a couple holding hands walking across the street," witness Dominique Eastman told ABC7."

Witnesses' accounts are usually different, but these witnessess' accounts contradict each other. He was either stopped at the light and lurched or he ran the light and hit them. If their bodies flew that means he didn't just lurch . I was hit by a car turning right a number of years ago and I wasn't thrown. The driver was looking left. and not to the right and she hit me at about 5 mph. He had to hit them at a pretty good speed for their bodies to fly a great deal.

I wonder what he was allegedly on that made the appearance of intoxication.

"Police did not identify the driver, but CBS2 reported that he is 29 years old and was taken to a hospital with minor injuries."

And then there is this from the Daily News site:

" Sergio Delgado, 29, was arrested at the scene and booked for murder, said Officer Ana Aguirre of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section."

Now who is the correct News source? One says that the police didn't release the name and the other is quoting an officer saying it's Sergio Delgado?

Does the Breeze ever do updates? Or do you slant it this way for a reason?

So cops that observe a reckless driver speeding, driving on the wrong side of the road, and not following road signs, should just ignore him? The cops didn't start a pursuit, they attempted to pull the guy over. When the guy took off, HE's the one that started the pursuit. How do you get your facts so twisted?

NO, you got your facts twisted. Look up in the dictionary to see the definition of pursuit. cops should have known that pursuing this idiot puts the pedestrians and the bystanders at risk. they should have tried to use some type of containment tactics instead.

Specifically, what facts do I have twisted? By definition, cops can't "pursue" someone unless that person decides to run, effectively starting the pursuit.
What "containment tactics" do you recommend? The cops weren't in control of his car, so they don't know where he was going to go. They couldn't even keep up with him - they were a block behind when the crash happened. They could maybe contain him within several city blocks, but that does nothing to protect the people within those blocks. Plus, the way he was driving prior to the pursuit could have just as likely led to a fatal crash.
Place the blame where it is clearly due and stop being ignorant.
