The 101st edition and the editor/publisher should go back and take American History 101. He and his employees sound as dumb as the men in the street that Jay Leno interviews.

But then, he is a product of L.A. schools where history and civics aren't taught, so maybe it's no big deal to think that just because a man's face is on a bill of U.S. currency that he was a president.

There should be a "Pro U.S." bent to the book. If people want critique history books, they should look at the $100 text books that have a less than U.S. bent to them.......

The Missouri is the longest river in the US.
It's about 375 miles longer than the Mississippi.
The confusion is caused by the way rivers are measured.
The Missouri is longer from it's source in Montana to it's end at the Mississippi, than the Mississippi is from it's source at Lake Bemidji , Minnesota to it's end at the Gulf of Mexico.
But the combined Missouri/Mississippi System is the longest river at around 3,800 miles.

You are correct when stating the Missouri River is the longest river in the US. But, the way you explain it, is wrong. The Missouri River is longer from its originating point to where it touches the Mississippi River. The Missouri River is considered to be a tributary of the Mississippi River. A tributary is a stream or river that flows into a larger river. It's that simple.

Good thing I was born here. Well, in Texas anyway. I thought James Madison was a 7 foot tall black NBA PLAYER.

If all these people who bought or were provided that book, passed the Citizenship Exam, we should revoke their citizenship status and deport them..............

Daily Horoscope for December 18

Gemini

During the rest of the month you'll enjoy being with people who know you inside out, and with whom you share a strong bond. You'll also want to be more forthcoming and emotional than usual, and may find yourself involved in heartfelt conversations and really intense exchanges. At times you may feel rather exposed, but it's important to open up emotionally right now.
