I have to agree with some of these negative posts. Orchard Supply does sell alot of junk merchandise. The quality of their plants are extremetly bad compared to some of the other nurseries in the immediate area. Thats why they offer lifetime guarantee so they can keep you coming back and hope that you will buy something else while you are in the store. Bad customer service should be blamed on the district manager/store manager because they will cut the employee hours if they are not making enough money and expect an employee to cover 2 or more departments when they underschedule which happens alot. Orchard Supply employees are undpaid (barely over minimun wage) overworked and not appreciated for their hard work. Some of us have not seen a raise in over four years! You think that Wallmart treats its employees bad, then you better think again.

I am also not happy with OSH. I bought a BBQ that was used. They said it was a return, but I seriously doubt they take back used BBQs. So I suspect the employees used it for a party. I was OK with it being used one time, and just clean it. What really made me angry was, that they had left a full grease pan in it, which I did not discover before too late, when it had spilled out into my car and subsequently my driveway that now has spots I can't remove. I wrote about it to the 'contact us' on OSH' web page, and told the store manager who promised someone would contact me. So far nothing! Not even an apology!

Orchard is a horrible company to work for. Their prices on certain items are very expensive. They do have a few good things to buy there. I really prefer dale hardware.

Iím a current o.s.h employee and I know how it all goes, John B. is right they do sell poor quality items at high prices and the customer service is horrible, at first was really good because it was a family owned business, after the family sold o.s.h the corporate office made it horrible thanks to sears and what not. o.s.h treated the employeeís so well they let you use profanity at the customer if the person was just acting wrong in so many ways now itís the customer is always right even if they are wrong in realty thatís not how it is because i donít get paid to be verbally and physically abused by the customer. They are right when it comes to an item or a sale but thatís it. This is the U.S.A and the corporate office should not have rights or be allowed to chop up the constitution.

I went shopping at OSH for a chainsaw. I ended up picking up a Poulan chainsaw. After two weeks of not using it, I decided to use it. So, I went to OSH and picked up some motor oil. I put it into the machine and after multiple attempts at getting it to work I stopped trying. I figured the machine had a machine defect. So, I went back to OSH the same day and told an attendent in the Garden Department about my problem. I told her I thought the machine was defected and that I wanted a return. And to prove my point asked her to try it herself. She did and after she tinkered with the machine she agreed that indeed it was a problem with the machine. So, I insisted for my return. She said no due to the return policy. I pointed out the receipt said that I could return my product within 90 days, which I had. Furthermore, I told her you sold me a defected product. That it is only right for you to accept my return for it isn't my fault, but Osh's. She said no and offered to hold the machine to find out what was wrong with it. And that she'd give us a call when they found out what was wrong. So, we agreed and following that day visisted OSH about three times to check up. They told us rudely to wait. Today, we visited again only to find out they had sent the chainsaw in for a repair, and that it would cost us $30, something we had never agreed to. This is outrageous. I will never be shopping again at OSH again. Their service is horrible.
