Buttercup, the County Clerk didn't decide what the law was, she was simply preparing her office for what she knew was about to happen. Another judge ruling that the New Mexico Constitution prohibits discrimination against same sex couples.

We'll remember that when we give our hard earned tax money to the overlords and smudge pots that dictate our lives.
Perhaps we should place napkins to shroud our faces before we bow before the county bureaucrats and the rump judges in this state.
Who pays for their lifestyle anyway?
What's the big deal? If you are opposed to same-sex marriage, then don't marry someone of the same gender as you.

If you are so fastidiously enamored of homosexual liaisons why would you want to equate them with traditional male/female marriage?
What's the big deal?
If you want anal sex, etc., why do you pose it under the guise of traditional marriage?
Why do you so desperately try to equate the two?
Are they the same?
Is there no difference?
We all know there is a profound difference.
Otherwise there would be no debate.
Don't check your conscience and integrity at the door.
Why are you so obsessed with the sex lives of other people? Could it be that you have no sex life of your own?

Mind your own affairs and stay out of other people's bedrooms.

Are we supposed to kill them off as you have obviously done, because you clearly have come here accompanied by neither.

Sweetie, since no one of your same sex (whatever it may be) is going to ever ask you to marry them, you have nothing to worry about. As for your anal sex obsession, we all know that you're worried that with your head being up there all the time, you have valid concerns about getting an eye poked out. But most folk don't have your dilemma.

Can you provide us with ANY cases where gay folks forced straight people to marry someone of the same gender? Of course not.

You believe you are being "forced" when someone ELSE marries?

Geesh. Play the victim, why don't you?

The "homosexual behavior" here is marriage, and you really believe that marriage is the same as being a drunk or a drug addict?

Your poor spouse! Your type don't have the foggiest respect for family, do you?

Hmmmmm, on a thread about marriage, the FIRST thing that pops into your mind is anal sex, despite the fact that the majority of gay people do not practice it, and a great many straight people, do.

Why is that? And why project your fantasies on others? They have NO bearing on obtaining a marriage license.

Are you suggesting an anal sex health check before any person obtains a marriage license? I can imagine it wouldn't be popular. Can you imagine the outcry?

believe there could be a spouse involved with this person and that would be a source for his distorted view of the world and need to stroke himself in public.

It is you who is trying to foist his religious bigotry on everyone else. Let the gays marry and live in peace. The gays don't threaten your right to enter into a heterosexual marriage, and get divorced, as many times as you wish.

If homophobia was just limited to "religious" bigots...am afraid that is not the case.

My sole issue with homosexual marriage lies with the fact that it deliberately and intentionally creates social units whereupon children will be deprived of either a biological mother or biological father.

For many years, homes absent both parents has has been decried as a predicate of many of the social ills within the African-American community, in particular.

Now, such situations are being codified into law.

I don't understand the logic of that.

The first person who posts back "it doesn't matter.....etc." then will have to explain why such situations only impact African-
Americans adversely and not children of SSM households.

Most of your fanooks are white, middle, or upper class types. Seems to me that to extrapolate from an unproven predicate about A-A society to conclude that similar ills might be present in SSM is disingenuous at best. The ills of AA society, which are not as prevalent in white society, go much more beyond an absence of one or both parents, and I think you know that already.

I'm quite sure it is.

Does this children's book nullify social research or concerns regarding absent fathers/mothers from the home, or is it your point that gay people are somehow immune from any consequences of that, and only African-Americans can't deal with it?

I understand that.

Do you believe that the absence of both parents from the home is of not detrimental effect in and of itself? AA leaders believe it is.

Although I'd hardly regard the ill effects to the AA community as "unproven", that leaves the jury REALLY out on SSM situations, doesn't it?

Source cited RE: absent fathers. Understood that they are an advocacy group, but they cite independent sources for their numbers.
