Whittier Soccer Complex to lose their fields?
I read the article saying the school was selling the grass field property. What happens to the fake whittier strikers?

sad, that there will be another bunch of homes built, with non-English speaking families bringing more traffic, and spending their money at non-English businesses, taking much-needed facilities away from our youth.
did not Whittier Soccer know that they'b be without facilities before they agreed to be absorbed by Strikers FC parent club?
we won't be traveling to Irvine or Cypress if they move practices there once the fields are taken away.

The Chiro College has thought about selling those fields for years.
Cal South made a large offer but was turned down. Too bad it woukd have been great for the local clubs programs not to have to travel so far for some State and National Cup games.

The CC will be hanging on to those fields for a while longer. It's big money in their pocket if they ever need it.

wow, bob would totally distroy everything that little donny built in the last 5 years. Like he did in every other program he worked for.

the sad part is that he might be the only guy who wants the job.

No one said they did.
But Cal South attempted to buy the CC fields and if they had Cal South would have used them to host come State & National Cup games.

Any way there are some new fields in Corona so now there will be some closer games at next years Cup matches

Wow, 110 homes in that little space.
At $500,000 each that's 55 million.
Wonder how much the selling price was ?

Local families and kids will suffer for this lose
ofgreen space.

Is it to be a gated community?

Dont act like Strikers FC doesn't know whats going on. They will find a new home. They have a lease on the fields still and have time to look fo a new home.
Those house will be so close together, might as well connect them and call them Duplexs.

Gated or not, too many on a little site. Neighbors are going to love that construction noise, much better than the soccer noise they have now.

I always have had a problem with gated communities the lock out the many city services with their walls. Additionally they hire minimum wage gards to patrol their comminites who are often ill trained and part of burglary problems. More than anything it separates the community. Often times it is a developers ploy to get as much out of their delevopment buy selling a false sense of secuity. In addition many gated communities have to pay HOA fees, which increase the cost of living there. and then you would have to abide by CCR all those busy bodies woried about the color of your trim not matching everyone elses. Man I just don't like gated communities.

The nice thing about LM is that no matter how much we whine about not having soccer fields is that we have some of the best in the area. There are some ugly fields that teams are playing on. This includes club fields. Striker will not find a field like they have now. They will struggle to maintain players.

I don't know why they would approve a project that will generate much needed new housing for the area, millions of dollars to the cities schools, parks, police and fire through huge development fees, jobs. Future tax revenue through property taxes (over $600,000.00 per year).

Remember this is not a public park but is operated for the profit of the trainers bringing nothing to anyone but those involved. The cities name has not been associated with it for years. The reason is because the Whittier name wasn't a good marketing tool. Now Strikers is everywhere and teams are called by the trainers names, not the city they are from. Smart move all around whether you like it or not.
